One of the resources introduced in the Warsong Update is the Serpent Scales—a resource gathered from Outcroppings using the Crescent Pick. Here, we’ll go over how to find it, and the current uses for this strange new material.

Hades 2 is still in Early Access at the point of writing, so some information in this guide may change over time.

How To Get Serpent Scales

Scattered throughout the Summit will be these little outcroppings of blue-green, scaley stone. Or something like that–it could be from an actual monster…

This is where you’ll find Serpent Scales, gatherable with the Pick.

The Warsong Update changed how gatherable resources work. Instead of prioritizing Gathering Tools, and using those to increase your chance of finding specific types of resources, the associated Familiar will now increase those chances. So, for a better chance at finding Serpent Scales and other Outcroppings, bring the raven Raki.

If you haven’t recruited him to the cause yet, Raki can be found in Fountain Rooms in Erebus, and recruited with a Witch’s Delight treat. Along with replacing the Crescent Pick, he’ll Mark enemies to increase Melinoë’s Critical chance.

Giving Raki even more treats gives you the option to increase chances of finding Outcroppings even more often.

How To Use Serpent Scales

There aren’t currently a lot of uses for Serpent Scales, but there’s at least one more major update for Hades 2 expected before the final release, so the list here is likely to continue to grow. They’re described as being used in incantations that involve shedding and surfaces.

Currently, Serpent Scales are used for the incantation Rage of the Elements, which lets Melinoë activate statues of the Olympians on Olympus that will aid her in battle.
