Best Projectile Heroes In Marvel Rivals

Summary

  • Marvel Rivals heroes are categorized into projectile, hitscan, or melee for varying playstyles.
  • Characters like Doctor Strange and Squirrel Girl excel as projectile heroes in different ways.
  • Winter Soldier stands out as one of the most lethal projectile heroes, especially up close.

Marvel Rivals has an extensive roster of different heroes to pick from, and most of them can be categorized into projectile, hitscan, or melee heroes. 8 Hardest Achievements To Unlock In Marvel Rivals

You’ll need to master several characters to get these tricky achievements.

Some projectile heroes really shine when you’re trying to hit enemies from a distance or control space with well-placed shots, while others are really deadly and accurate when engaged up close and personal.

10

Magneto

The Magneto Overview in Marvel Rivals.

Magneto is a pretty decent projectile character. Being a Tank, his main focus is crowd control and defense, and not necessarily offense. His primary fire, Iron Volley, does a decent amount of damage and isn’t too hard to land an attack as a projectile.

His magnetic field shield and metal shield abilities are more focused on either defending himself or his allies, which is fine, but as a damage-dealing projectile character, he ranks on the lower side of the spectrum.

9

Peni Parker

Marvel Rivals Peni Parker character description screen.

Peni Parker’s primary fire is very accurate for a projectile weapon and almost feels like a hitscan weapon, given its accuracy and fast travel times.

Her spider-nest and arachno mine abilities combined with her tank capabilities make her one of the best characters to capture and hold a point in domination. On top of this, her ability to reposition quickly gives her an edge in fast-paced battles and close-quarters combat.

8

Doctor Strange

The Doctor Strange Overview in Marvel Rivals.

Doctor Strange’s daggers send out powerful bolts that deal solid damage on impact. His primary attack does have a slow firing speed, so you’ll need to time your shots carefully, but when they hit, they hit hard.

We won’t judge you for doing these relatable things in Marvel Rivals.

One great tactic for Doctor Strange when dueling with another character is to combine the slow firing speed of the daggers with activating his Shield of Seraphim for a quick second in order to protect him from most incoming damage.

7

Loki

Marvel Rivals Loki character description screen.

Loki’s primary fire is rather weak on its own, but after you place two clones of him on the field with an open line of sight, he does three times more damage, which makes him a very good projectile character.

His primary fire also has a generous AOE field, meaning you can just aim at or near an enemy’s feet to deal damage, making him relatively easy to use.

Combine this with Loki’s invisibility ability, and you can easily get the jump on non-tank characters from behind and finish them off rather quickly.

6

Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl overview in Marvel Rivals.

Squirrel Girl’s acorns are not only projectiles that are huge, but they also deal a whopping 150 damage in just one hit. With this, you can easily take down most characters in the game with just two hits. The only tricky part is hitting fast-moving targets, but as most Squirrel Girl players keep spamming the primary fire anyway, this isn’t as much of an issue.

She also has the Squirrel Blockade ability, which traps any character it hits for 1.33 seconds, giving you just enough time to easily land at least one hit with the right aim.

Squirrel Girl’s team-up ability with Spider-Man gives her a Web Bomb with similar capabilities to the Squirrel Blockade ability, drastically improving her projectile character feasibility.

5

Iron Man

Marvel Rivals Iron Man character description screen.

Iron Man is among the better half of projectile characters since you can fly up high and easily flank enemies, especially on maps with a higher ceiling. His primary fire’s AOE is generous enough, and he’s hard to shoot down if you’re playing as another melee or projectile character.

He can also get in close and finish enemies off with his Unibeam. His projectile-based ultimate is also very easy to use and deals an extreme amount of damage.

4

Namor

Namor details in Marvel Rivals.

Namor already does a high amount of damage with his spears, and then you have his Wrath of the Seven Seas special attack that downs an enemy for a second, giving you even more of a window to land a hit or two with your primary fire.

We haven’t even mentioned his two Monstro Spawns, which greatly increase your damage output when using all of these abilities in tandem, making him one of the best projectile characters.

Namor’s team-up ability with Luna Snow gives him a third charge of an ice-infused Monstro Spawn, making him even more of a pain in the ass for the enemy team.

3

Moon Knight

Marvel Rivals Moon Knight character description screen.

Not only does Moon Knight deal a good amount of damage with his normal primary fire, but carefully placing and using an Ankh makes him one of the highest damage-dealing characters in the game.

Once you place an Ankh and entrap an enemy in its field, hit them with a Moon Blade, along with spamming your Crescent Darts. With this, Moon Knight can easily take down multiple characters who have their Health between 250 and 300 and are caught up in the Ankh in just a few seconds.

2

Hawkeye

Hawkeye display in Marvel Rivals.

A fully charged headshot from Hawkeye’s primary fire deals 300 damage, which is enough to take down almost all non-tank heroes in the game and also makes it the single most lethal projectile shot in the entire game. Non-headshot arrows deal 80 base damage, which can get an additional bonus of 70 damage with the Archer’s Focus for a total of 150 non-headshot damage when fully charged.

His primary fire arrows also have no damage drop-off, meaning you can comfortably keep your distance and spam these shots for good amounts of damage, but that’s not to say that he doesn’t require a moderate amount of skill to hit fast-moving targets.

1

Winter Soldier

Marvel Rivals Winter Soldier character description screen.

Winter Soldier is not only the most lethal projectile hero, but he’s also one of the most lethal characters in the entire game. His roterstern blaster deals 75 damage with each shot, with a damage falloff that ain’t too bad.

Combine this with all three of his abilities that excel at close range – Trooper’s Fist, Tainted Voltage, and Bionic Hook – and your chances of survival drastically go down when fighting against him in close combat as a non-tank character.

Rocket’s Unlimited Ammo team-up ability with Winter Soldier enables him to easily shred through enemies for a few seconds, making him even deadlier than he already is.
