Since its initial release in 2017, PUBG: Battlegrounds has amassed a large fan-following and has become one of the most popular games in the world.
As the first battle royale game to achieve huge success and fame, Krafton’s PUBG: Battlegrounds played an instrumental role in the genre’s boom and in the spawning of competitors like Fortnite and Apex Legends. For the better part of the past 10 years, the online multiplayer title has cultivated a large audience across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile, a chunk of which still tunes in to matches regularly. Despite being eight years old at this point, PUBG: Battlegrounds continues to drive revenue growth for Krafton and continues to see nearly a million concurrent players, on Steam alone, on a daily basis. Adding to the game’s growing lineup of content drops, the devs recently revealed a bunch of new items planned to arrive during PUBG‘s eighth anniversary celebrations.
