In the Inifinity castle arc of Demon Slayer, Zenitsu gets to confront his former mate in the Infinity Castle. These two together learned Thunder Breathing from the same teacher, the former Thunder Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima. However, Kaigaku betrayed the Demon Slayers and sided with the demons.
Zenitsu then has to kill this demon who indirectly caused the death of his old master, as he was filled with tremendous shake upon knowing that his student turned into a demon, so he committed Seppku. This fight is short-lived as Zenitsu overpowers Kaigaku skillfully. With one precise strike, a form he invented himself, known as the Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami, Zenitsu beheads Kaigaku.

Giyu and Tanjiro vs Akaza
- Casualties: Akaza
- Who Won: Demon Slayers
Out of the Upper-Rank Demons, one of the most captivating characters is none other than Akaza, the Upper Rank 3 Demon. When it comes to the infinity castle arc of Demon Slayer, this demon will take on two powerful Demon Slayers, Giyu the Water Hashira and Tanjiro. Akaza’s close hand-to-hand fighting style makes him a very powerful enemy. With Rengoku’s blood on Akaza’s hands, Tanjiro is even more determined to take this demon down. Giyu and Tanjiro were both struggling against him.
Compared to other demons, however, Akaza has maintained a lot of his humanity. The Demon Slayers themselves didn’t take him down, despite Tanjiro having managed to behead him. Akaza was so powerful that he was able to regrow his head. He kept fighting until he had a flashback about his wife and he decided to end it on his own, making his defeat a suicide and giving Tanjiro and Giyu the chance to advance and follow through.

The fight could only be finished by stalling Muzan until sunrise, as beheading him was a useless attempt, due to his far superior regeneration to any demon seen before. Muzan showcased exactly why he was the Demon King, and this was on top of his being affected by a drug created by Tamayo and Shinobu with the purpose of weakening him. In the end, the Slayers barely managed to do it, and Muzan burnt with the Sun, leaving behind countless casualties among the Hashira and other Demon Slayers.

Sanemi, Gyomei, Muichiro, Genya vs Kokushibo
- Casualties: Muichiro, Genya, Kokushibo
- Who Won: Demon Slayers
The fight that saw the Demon Slayer take on the Upper Rank 1 Demon Kokushibo was one of the most memorable ones. This fight starts with Muichiro taking on the Demon by himself, the demon happening to be one of his ancestors.
Unsurprisingly, this demon is too powerful for any Demon Slayer on their own. Genya tries to help Muichiro but fails at it, but his brother Sanemi jumps into action. However, even with them, it’s still not enough to push back Kokushibo and Gyomei’s entrance is needed. Still with all this power, defeating this Demon is a struggle only achieved by Genya consuming Kokushibo’s sword fragment and Muichiro turning his blade red. The Demon Slayers lost both Muichiro and Genya in this fight.

Shinobu, Inosuke, and Kanao vs Doma
- Casualties: Doma, Shinobu
- Who Won: Demon Slayers
One of the most interesting fights that occurs during Demon Slayer’s last arcs is the fight that sees Demon Slayers confront the Upper Rank 2 demon, Doma.
The fight starts with only Shinobu against Doma. While she holds her own incredibly well against this demon, he overpowers her and decides to consume her body. However, what Doma doesn’t realize is that it’s all a part of Shinobu’s plan. Kanao and Inosuke continue on the fight that Shinobu left. Shinobu’s poison starts taking effect on Doma during this fight. Even then, the fight wasn’t easy and Kanao had to use Vermillion Eyes, a technique that can cause blindness.
However, the poison gave Kanao and Inosuke the opening to behead and end this demon once and for all, avenging all their fallen family members.
