However, one character in Hogwarts Legacy disappears from the game at its climax and on through to its epilogue, with absolutely no explanation given as to why she is no longer around. That character is Professor Dinah Hecat, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and while it could be simply categorized as a narrative oversight or an event that doesn’t require an explanation, she is far too important for her character to simply let her fizzle out of the game for no reason.

Given her past as an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries, it’s possible she may have been exposed to dangerous magic or even cursed during one of her missions. Furthermore, since the Department of Mysteries is known for unpredictable magical experiments, Professor Hecat may have been involved in research that led to her illness.
