Virtus.pro Are The Champions Of Marvel Rivals Invitational EMEA 2025

The Marvel Rivals Invitational is a four-region international tournament. It is the first esports event within the Marvel Rivals community. Based on the region, the length of each tournament phase is decided. The Asia and Oceania phases of the event was a one-week tournament with four invited teams. The EMEA and North America event phase is a 2-week event with eight invited teams. The EMEA phase of the tournament was held between Feb.28 and March. 9.
The tournament was split into two phases, the swiss stage and the playoffs phase. The top 4 teams in the playoffs phase of the tournament were Virtus.pro, Fnatic, OG, and Luminosity EU. Virtus.pro had quite a flawless run in the group stages, winning all three matches and only losing one map.
In the playoffs, they had a dominant upper bracket run, winning both their matches 3-0. One of the teams that they defeated in the upper bracket was OG, which they would then face off in the Grand Finals in a best-of-seven series.
The match felt quite balanced in the first four games of the grand finals, with both teams winning alternate games. There was even one moment where all 12 Ultimates were used during the second game. Going into Game 5, which was played on Midtown, is where we saw Virtus.pro claim their dominance. They won that game with a score of 2-1 and the final map of Birnin T’Challa with a scoreline of 2-0.
What Is Next For Marvel Rivals Esports?
Following the win, Nevix, a player from Virtus.pro, had this to say about the grand finals and their opponents:
“I wasn’t nervous as I have been in this situation before. So, it is like another day at the job. Eventually, you are [going to] get some competition, and you are going to be challenged. You just need to lock in, stay focused, stay calm, and be focused, and that’s what we did today.”
The next event in Marvel Rivals esports will be Marvel Rivals Invitational North America 2025, which will take place from March 14 to March 23rd. Teams like Sentinels and 100theives have already announced their rosters for the upcoming tournament. Recently, Marvel rivals announced a new skin for Venom, Cloack, and Dagger that is now available in the game.
