One Piece: Oda Has Already Confirmed Who Is Stronger Between The Admirals And Yonko

Fans have always wondered how the Admirals compare to the Yonko in power. Oda has already confirmed this in One Piece.

Still, having a Devil Fruit is always better than not having one, as has been shown repeatedly throughout the story. When one thinks of Devil Fruits, of course, their origin often comes up, and naturally, fans might even start thinking about the Devil Fruit Tree, which could very well exist in the One Piece world, and might be revealed at some point later down the line in the Final Saga. At the moment, the intrigue surrounding the Devil Fruit tree rises, and fans can only hope that Oda answers the mystery soon. That said, it isn’t as if there are absolutely no hints in the story itself. Oda has done more than enough to point out where this mystical Devil Fruit tree might be.

How Devil Fruits Come Into Existence

  • Devil Fruits Are Born From Desire
  • All Fruits Were Wishes By Someone

The origin of Devil Fruits has always been a mystery among One Piece fans and even right now, it hasn’t fully been explained by Oda. But, what can be said is that fans know a lot more about it than they knew before. In the Egghead Island arc, One Piece fans were introduced to Doctor Vegapunk, a legendary scientist who Oda had promised would explain the true secret behind the Devil Fruits long ago.

Q: Excuse me!! May I pose a serious question to the typically-vulgar SBS?? In Volume 46, Usopp said that the same power doesn’t exist twice. But this doesn’t make sense with what you said in the Volume 45 SBS… If the Gomu Gomu no Mi was in a book of fruits, then Luffy HAD to have eaten at least the SECOND known example of the fruit! Now, the most beautiful and intelligent Ei-chan, explain it all! P.N. Takafi

O: Very sharp of you. But I’m cool. I haven’t made any mistakes. As a hint, let me rephrase what Usopp is saying. “The same powers don’t exist twice AT THE SAME TIME”. How’s that? For more detail, you’ll just have to wait for a certain professor to make his appearance in the story, and explain exactly what the Devil Fruits REALLY are… Eventually.

In the Egghead Island Arc, the Straw Hats finally met Vegapunk, and in this arc, Oda revealed all sorts of exciting details to the fans. Most importantly, when Luffy was fighting against Lucci, Oda revealed what Devil Fruits truly were. According to him, Devil Fruits are born into the world due to hope. In other words, Devil Fruits exist because people want them to exist. The desire of humanity to be a certain way, or to have a certain power leads to the creation of Devil Fruits.

Throughout the years, humans have always wished for evolution, wanting to have certain powers. Vegapunk believes that every Devil Fruit in existence is a possibility for human evolution that someone else desired. In other words, Devil Fruits are a representation of the many branches of human evolution. Vegapunk even goes as far as to say that those who have Devil Fruit powers exist in a completely different dimension with powers that were dreamed of by someone else before them. Of course, this status is unnatural, and it causes the Mother Sea to hate them, which is why Devil Fruit users sink into the ocean.

Those with powers exist in different dimensions, dreamed up by someone else before them! — Vegapunk

Of course, fans now know the concept of how Devil Fruits come into existence, but there are still holes in the idea. It is unclear how Devil Fruits first came into existence and how they are born in the first place.

The Forest God And The Devil Fruits Lore

The Forest God Is Responsible For Creating Devil Fruits

When it comes to Devil Fruits, or fruits in general, it is only natural to assume that they grow somewhere. If they didn’t, then there would’ve been no need for these powers to specifically show themselves as fruits in the first place. In fact, Oda himself has hinted at the idea of a Devil Fruit tree long ago in one of his one-shots. In Romance Dawn, which serves as a prototype for One Piece, Oda mentions the tree of the devil, which bears fruit in a very long time. Now, whether this concept will make it to One Piece or not remains to be seen, but the possibility is certainly there.

Furthermore, Oda strongly hinted at the existence of the Devil Fruit tree through the Harley:

First World

Flames engulfed the land, and humans succumbed to their desires, touching the forbidden Sun. The enslaved prayed, and the Sun God appeared. The Earth God was enraged, and together with the serpent of infernal flames, shrouded the world in death and darkness. They would never meet again.

Second World

Breath stirred within the void, and the Forest God sent forth demons. The Sun did nothing but spread the fires of war. The people of the half-moon dreamed, the people of the full-moon dreamed. Humans slew the Sun and became Gods, and the Sea God raged. They Would never meet again.

Third World

In chaos, there is void. The troubled shadow remembers the promised day, and hears the voice of the fractured moon. The Sun God dances and laughs, leading the world to its end. The sun will return once more, and a new dawn will arrive. Surely, this time, they will meet again.

One Piece: Oda Hints At Yamato’s New Pirate Crew

Yamato’s cover story hints at her new pirate crew. Yamato will be a huge support for Luffy in One Piece’s Final Saga.

In the Harley, it is the Forest God that sends forth demons, or causes the creation of the Devil Fruit. Clearly, the Forest God doing this implies the existence of a Devil Fruit tree that bore fruit long ago.

Where Is The Devil Fruit Tree Located?

The Location Of The Devil Fruit Tree Is Very Clear

One Piece Mary Geoise

There doesn’t seem to be a hidden location for the Devil Fruit Tree. When it comes to the One Piece world, there exist two special kinds of trees. One is the Adam Tree, which apparently exists in multiple places, and the largest of which is in Elbaf. It is a very durable tree using the wood of which both Sunny and Oro Jackson were crafted.

There is also the Sunlight Tree Eve. So far, fans have only seen the roots of the Sunlight Tree Eve, and they’re what gives Fishman Island its light, carrying it from the surface to down below. However, the actual tree has never been seen. Given that the roots are in Fishman Island, the tree itself must be directly above, which implies the tree is somewhere in the Holy Land of Marijoa, and it is this very tree that could’ve been responsible for the creation of the Devil Fruits during the Second World.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1143, is set to be March 23, 2025.
