Once Yumia clears the many Manabound areas around Aladiss in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist Of Memories & The Envisioned Land, she can start setting up a base for the Exploration Team in the areas nearby, where she and her friends can also do their activities, such as Synthesis or resting.

But just because a base must be practical, it doesn’t mean it needs to be boring or uncomfortable. Each base has a Comfort Level to increase, and taking some time to do it can be quite useful, as you can get some unique rewards from building your place in a cozier way.
What Is Comfort Level?
Comfort Level is the overall rating for your base. It analyzes all items currently used in that Building Area to give it a final score. This score is recorded for that specific Building Area, and changes whenever you add or remove anything from it.
It serves mostly as a way of evaluating how well you’re building that base so far, and is directly affected by the type of base you’re constructing and which furniture you’re adding to it. Only Normal (Free Build) Bases have a Comfort Level, so you won’t need to worry about this metric on Camping Sites or at the Atelier.
If you build a Greenhouse, a Warehouse, or other special structures in a Building Area, Comfort Level won’t be unlocked there, even if you use Free Build later. You need to start over from zero to unlock Comfort Level on them!
You can check a base’s Comfort Level by opening the Building menu while inside it. The number in the left corner indicates your current Comfort, and you can check how much Comfort each furniture adds by checking the number inside the parentheses while hovering over that furniture. The maximum Comfort Level for a base is 600.
Every region also has its own Comfort Level, which is the sum of all of your Building Areas’ total Comfort Level. If you have three bases with Comfort Levels of 300, 600, and 400, your regional Comfort Level will be 1400.
Reaching certain Comfort Level milestones rewards the player with unique items, such as furniture and extra functions in that particular base. You can check them by opening the Catalog while building a base. Reaching a certain regional Comfort Level is needed for some Pioneering Effort tasks, so pay attention to those and make sure you have some cozy bases!
How To Increase Comfort Level
Comfort Level is increased by adding the correct furniture to your base. Furniture items have their own costs, but they also have a Comfort Level. Some Furniture will grant you much more Comfort Level points than others, so using them increases your overall Level much faster.
You can get better furniture blueprints by exploring ruins, and they are often better for Comfort than the ones you start with. You can also build multiple structures inside the same Building Area, and decorate each of them with fitting items.
Pay attention to Traders (unlocked by completing a region’s Pioneering Effort). They may sell you some blueprints for important furniture pieces, which can also help you boost your Comfort across your bases.
The main goal is to get creative and decorate your perfect houses, but if you only care about the rewards, you can add multiple copies of the same item that increases more Comfort. Couches, for example, tend to give lots of Comfort Points. They can take up some space, so think smart when placing them!
You won’t need huge Comfort Levels to get the best rewards, so as long as you put some effort into your constructions, you shouldn’t have much trouble reaching the minimum goals. Use your best pieces of furniture and make a base worthy of an alchemist.
