Fortnite Lawless’ first major update is ramping up the action, introducing a lineup of Exotics that players can earn by completing the Outlaw Keycard community quests. The update also brings the Rocket Drill into the game, and powerful additional armaments like the Outlaw Shotgun, offering even more ways to shake up gameplay.
In addition to these weapons—such as the powerful Pump and Dump—players can also earn plenty of XP by progressing through the Week 3 Quests. While some challenges are fairly simple, like mining Gold Veins or traveling a certain distance with the Rocket Drill, one quest requires players to track down the elusive Golden Llamas. Here’s how to find and search Golden Llamas in Fortnite.

How To Seach Golden Llamas In Fortnite
Golden Llamas are a type of loot cache introduced during Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, and function similarly to the Loot Llamas featured in past seasons. Much like the Loot Llamas, Golden Llamas are incredibly rare to find, with only three spawning in a match of Battle Royale and Zero Build at a time.
To find one, players will have to rely purely on luck, as they will spawn in random locations all around the Fortnite Island. However, they are pretty easy to spot from afar due to their unmistakable golden glow. In this case, cruising around in cars, gliding from Launch Pads, and scouting ahead with the Falcon Eye Sniper are all very effective strategies for increasing the chances of spotting one.
Once players have spotted a Golden Llama, they can approach it, press the interact button to open it, or simply pickaxe the Llama to get the rewards inside. One shot from a Sticky Grenade Launcher is also enough to break a Golden Llama, making it an effective way to get its contents when in a hurry or caught in a pinch. However, if players are looking to complete the Week 3 Quest, be sure to prioritize searching the Llama instead of destroying it.
Once opened, a Golden Llama will drop 1,000 Gold Bars, 4 Golden Splashes, and ammo of all types, making it a great way to stock up on ammunition—which seems to be pretty hard to come by this season. 1,000 Gold can also go a long way, especially if players find themselves unable to crack open the various vaults around the Fortnite Island.
Searching a Golden Llama will also add progress to the ‘Search Golden Llamas’ week 3 quest, and searching an additional two will reward players with 30,000 XP upon completion—a great sum of XP to put towards the Battle Pass.
