Hollowpoint is an excellent starter choice if you’re diving into the game for the first time and aren’t quite sure where to start. Her abilities are engaging, but relatively straightforward. But, she still has a decently high level of skill expression for veterans of hero shooters. Here’s everything you need to know to play Hollowpoint in FragPunk.
How Hollowpoint’s Abilities Work
Like most of the Lancers in FragPunk, Hollowpoint has three key abilities that separate her from the pack. Her abilities grant her high-damage, and a decent amount of reconnaissance.
Ability Name |
Type Of Ability |
Details |
---|---|---|
Meterora |
Damage |
This activates a single-shot rail gun that charges up and can detect enemies in range. |
Smoke Screen |
Recon |
This deploys a smoke screen that moves forward, revealing enemies that come into contact with it. |
Paparazzi |
Trap |
Deploys a trap that automatically attaches to an enemy on contact, revealing their location. |
While Hollowpoint does do great damage herself, make sure you’re using her abilities to help expose enemies for your teammates.
How To Play Hollowpoint
Hollowpoint’s abilities are all about revealing enemies and taking them out with quick, decisive shots with Meterora. This ability needs to charge up to be used, so don’t just run in guns-a-blazin’.
You’ll want to get into a basic rhythm with Hollowpoint in order to be successful.
- Use Recon Abilities – Use either her Paparazzi ability or Smoke Screen to try to reveal enemies proactively if you can. You have two usages of each of these, so be sparing.
- Set Yourself Up For Headshots – Based on revealed locations of enemies, set yourself up around a corner for a headshot with Meterora.
- Take The Shot – Once you’ve set yourself up and have a good idea of where the enemy is coming from, take your moment when it presents itself.
Although Hollowpoint has defensive abilities that allow her to reveal enemy locations, that doesn’t mean you can’t play aggressive.
If you’re a great marksman and have good gunplay skills, you can play forward with your Meterora and take decisive kills.
How To Play Hollowpoint On Attack
While the above breakdown demonstrates how to play Hollowpoint generally, you’ll also want to make sure you’re adjusting your strategy based on whether you’re playing attack or defense.
On attack rounds, Hollowpoint is great for two things.

Clearing Long Hallways |
Many maps have very long hallways on the way to each respective defense point. Because Hollowpoint is a great long-ranged sniper, she can clear exposed areas with her Meterora. |
Guarding The Converter |
Once you’ve planted the Converter, you’ll want to set up at least one Paparazzi trap in an exposed door so that you can cover all your exposed angles. Place this trap decently far away so you have time to react to incoming enemies. |
How To Play Hollowpoint On Defense
If you’re defending, Hollowpoint plays slightly differently, though you’ll still want to make sure you’re taking advantage of her long sight lines and recon abilities.
On defense rounds, Hollowpoint is great for two things.

Guarding Chokes |
Sometimes, it’s best to let enemies come through choke points so you can take advantage. Thanks to Hollowpoint’s long sight lines, she is great at guarding tight entryways from a distance, or by using Paprazzi traps. |
Blocking Enemy Sight Lines |
Smoke Screen has a secondary usage. While it reveals enemies, you can also use Smoke Screen to block enemy sight lines. When you’re in the thick of a gun fight, use this to grant yourself a reprieve. |
After using Smoke Screen, you can walk slowly behind it, giving you the ability to sneak up on enemies with a melee attack without them being able to see you.
Or, you can use Smoke Screen to escape, blocking enemy sight lines if you find yourself outnumbered.
