Fortnite Festival has revived an era of gaming many thought had been laid to rest, and now it seems one of the best things about that era is finally making a comeback too. Through The Fire And Flames, the Dragonforce track notorious for being one of the most difficult songs to ever grace Guitar Hero, is seemingly coming to Fortnite Festival.
That’s according to reliable Fortnite leaker, Hypex. Hypex shared the good news on Twitter following today’s Fortnite update. There doesn’t appear to have been an official reveal confirming Through The Fire And Flames is coming to Fortnite Festival, but Hypex has claimed when it does, it will be free for all rather than one you have to pay for.

Guitar Hero is finally returning after a ten year hiatus, but the announcement is already drawing backlash over what is clearly generative AI art.
For the uninitiated, Fortnite Festival’s songs are called jam tracks. Anyone can log in and pick from the rotation of free ones, but there are also paid tracks that only pop up if you’ve bought them, or if you’re sharing a lobby with someone who has bought them. According to Hypex, the Dragonforce track discovered today will be a free song added to the Festival rotation.
Through The Fire And Flames Is Reportedly Coming To Fortnite Festival
Free For All So Everyone Can Suffer Its Intensity
As for why this is bigger news than usual, as noted, Through The Fire And Flames is one of Guitar Hero’s most famous songs. Famous for being difficult, there are people to this day completing unimaginably difficult Through The Fire And Flames challenges for the first time. Just last week, streamer CarnyJared became the first person in the world to 100 percent the song at 200 percent speed. It took them nine months and more than 50,000 attempts to nail it.
With Through The Fire And Flames coming to Fortnite Festival, a whole new generation of rhythm gamers is about to be introduced to its punishing difficulty. The replies to Hypex’s tweet are a mix of Guitar Hero veterans who have been waiting for this day since Fortnite Festival was announced, and whippersnappers who have never heard of the song. On the one hand, that makes me feel incredibly old, but on the other, I’m sure I’ll feel a lot better watching them suffer as I add the track to the setlist in every lobby I frequent.
It’s been a year since Fortnite launched Fortnite Festival and the Guitar Hero/Rock Band era revival continues to gain momentum. There are now various options available when it comes to modern day guitar controllers. CRKD has officially joined the party, revealing its official Les Paul guitar controllers earlier this month.
