Capcom has dropped a major Monster Hunter Wilds update that tackles some of the game’s most pressing issues, but there’s still a fair number of glitches you need to watch out for. While Wilds has been one of the biggest Capcom launches of all time, it has been beset with problems across all platforms. Progression has been blocked and mechanics aren’t working properly, but this latest set of patch notes is bursting with fixes that you’ll want to read.
Before I dive into the Ver.1.000.05.00 patch, it’s worth exploring Monster Hunter Wilds‘ known issues. The developer says that, as of Monday March 10, there’s a handful of glitches and other problems it’s aware of in the RPG, which it is currently considering addressing in the future.
If you fire an SOS right as a quest starts, you might experience a network error, while a handful of side missions are also uncompleteable depending on certain conditions. Link members are sometimes not prioritized over other players either, and may not appear in places like Base Camps when playing together – hopefully Title Update 1’s gathering hub doesn’t suffer from the same problem. You also might find that you can’t edit your Hunter Profile properly, and Palico attacks with a blunt weapon don’t inflict stun and exhaust damage, which sort of defeats the point of using them.

As for issues resolved in the Monday March 10 patch, I’ve put some of the most important fixes below. You can read the rest here.
Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix Ver.1.000.05.00’s most pressing fixes
- The ‘Grill a Meal’ and ‘Ingredient Center’ features cannot be unlocked even after meeting the progress criteria.
- At the Smithy, an issue may occur where tutorials are repeatedly shown, disabling certain options in the menu.
- Addressed issues that occurred under certain conditions with screen rendering and causing force quits.
- When cutting off monster parts, the parts change into a monster part from a different monster.
- An issue which may cause crashes or some monsters to act strangely under certain situations.
