A few days ago, it was announced that MHA Vigilantes would drop a new trailer today, and so it did. The video introduces the main characters (the Naruhata Vigilantes), one of the main antagonists (at least in the first arcs of the story), shows a few Pro Heroes and also previews the opening theme song:

A new visual has also been released:

My Hero Academia Vigilantes will be released on April 7, 2025, in Japan.

How Many Episodes Are There?

Koichi activates his quirk in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

While there is no official information, rumors suggest the first season will run for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll also confirmed today that it will stream the series as it airs in Japan.

If it is 12 episodes long, it should only cover the Beginning and Stendhal arcs. If it is a bit rushed, it could also start covering the Queen Bee arc by the end of the season.

Spin-off Or Canon Prequel?

While My Hero Academia Vigilantes was not written by Kohei Horikoshi himself, it is considered canon to the main series. Moreover, Horikoshi has referred to the series in the original manga, meaning that the author himself considers it a canon prequel to the original manga. As Vigilantes has already concluded, if all seasons are about 12 episodes, it could last for 7–9 seasons (it could be more or less depending on the pacing).

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll.
