For players that pre-order the Standard Edition on any platform, the MLB The Show 25 release date will be March 18, 2025. While some games use regional launches that give players an opportunity to use the New Zealand trick to play early, the MLB The Show 25 release time will make the game go live simultaneously worldwide at midnight Eastern time. Will MLB The Show 25 Launch on Xbox Game Pass?
Unlike the last several years, MLB The Show 25 will not be on Xbox Game Pass on Day One. After being a PlayStation exclusive for nearly a decade, MLB The Show 21 was the first to release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Starting with MLB The Show 21, every annual installment until this one was available on Xbox Game Pass as of the Standard Edition release date.
There is no official word on whether MLB The Show 25 will eventually be on Xbox Game Pass after launch, but similar annual sports titles like Madden and NHL usually take four to six months to become available on the service. Last year’s MLB The Show 24 will also be leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 15.
How To Play MLB The Show 25 Early
As has become tradition for just about every single annual sports video game franchise, MLB The Show 25 will provide Early Access exclusively to players who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition. Anyone with that version will receive four days of Early Access and be able to play as soon as March 14, 2025, at midnight ET. Sadly, a simultaneous worldwide launch means that classic moves like changing the time zone on a console won’t unlock the game any sooner.
In addition to Early Access, the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with extra Diamond Dynasty packs, Stubs (in-game virtual currency), and the permanent bonus of Double Daily Rewards from launching the game and logging in each day. If gamers are looking for an early edge in Diamond Dynasty, the Digital Deluxe Edition of MLB The Show 25 is a must.
