A large Mario Kart LEGO set has been rumored for quite some time, with leaks giving fans an idea of how big and substantial the new set would be. LEGO Mario Kart Set Details
- Release Date: May 15, 2025
- Price: $169.99
- Pieces: 1,972
This is hardly the only Mario Kart set LEGO has produced, with the building-block company recently launching a wave of sets inspired by Nintendo’s iconic racing franchise. LEGO’s previous Mario Kart sets include characters like Donkey Kong and Baby Peach and feature fun extras that help bring the game to life. Other collaborations between LEGO and Nintendo include a 2D Mario and Yoshi statue, as well as an incredibly detailed 3D Bowser model.
This new set couldn’t be released at a better time, as Nintendo showed off Mario Kart 9 earlier this year. The new Mario Kart game was revealed alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, a gaming console that has become one of the most anticipated in recent memory. Building off the success of the original Switch, the Nintendo Switch 2 makes a few interesting changes to the original system, namely with its Joycons. Instead of sliding into a track, the Nintendo Switch 2’s Joycons will simply click into place, seemingly making them easier to use and sturdier. Both the Switch 2 and the next Mario Kart game are expected to launch together, though an exact release date is still unconfirmed.
