While the major focus of Monster Hunter Wilds is the large monsters you’ll be fighting, every region in the game also has a few small monsters that can also be fought and looted. These smaller monsters may not pose much of a threat, though they shouldn’t be ignored depending on the gear you want to craft.
Just like large monsters, the small monsters of each region will also have High Rank variants that drop very rare materials such as Bulaqchi Carapaces. Bulaqchi Carapaces are needed in a few crafting materials for High Rank armor; here’s how to easily get some.

Where To Farm Bulaqchi Carapace In Monster Hunter Wilds
Bulaqchi Carapaces are a guaranteed drop every time you carve a Bulaqchi. Bulaqchis are the small ant-like creatures found in the Windward Plains, the first region of the game. Fast travel back to base camp and from here, exit camp and follow the path off to the right to the caves. This is the major area of the region where Bulaqchis spawn, and they’ll usually spawn in small groups.
If you can’t easily find some after entering the caves, they do appear on the map. Instead of having their own icons, they all instead appear as small purple diamonds on the map, though this is a general icon for all small monsters. When hovering over a purple diamond, the name of the small monster will appear, just make sure it says Bulaqchi.
While riding your Seikret, drop a waypoint on the purple diamond to have your mount automatically run you there.

Are Bulaqchis Dangerous In Monster Hunter Wilds
Just one Bulaqchi on its own doesn’t pose much of a risk at all. That being said, these creatures move and fight in groups, and their only attack will pin you to the ground while they attack you. While it’s easier to worry about the massive monsters that tower over you, a swarm of Bulaqchi can surround you and consistently knock you down as they whittle away at your health and keep bigger weapons from winding up to attack.
That being said, as long as you are preemptive in attacking them these bugs will go down in a few hits and won’t be much of a problem. Swarms of Bulaqchis will also team up to take on larger monsters that pass through the region, so it may be worthwhile to have something bigger do the fighting while also getting a few scratches off on that larger monster in the process.
