There are plenty of things to do in Monster Hunter Wilds outside of just hunting monsters, and one such activity includes item collection. Every region in the game has tons of valuable resources, and if you’re in the Scarlet Forest, you may have stumbled upon a Wyvern Egg or two.
Wyvern Eggs in MH Wilds are a little different compared to the previous Monster Hunter games. The overall lack of delivery quests has made these eggs less valuable, but if you still want to try getting one back to camp, here’s how you can do so.

Here’s what you need to do to get Sild Cotton, one of the ingredients for a secret armor set in MH Wilds.
Where to Find Wyvern Eggs in MH Wilds
Players can find a pair of Wyvern Eggs in a Rathalos/Rathian nest in Area 11 of the Scarlet Forest. Either of the mentioned monsters will lead you there if you get them weak enough during a hunt, but you can also go there at any time. Although, the moment you hunt a Rathalos or Rathian should be the safest.
Delivering Wyvern Eggs in Monster Hunter Wilds
All you need to do is pick up an egg and take it to a nearby pop-up camp in the Scarlet Forest. However, this is easier said than done, as Wyvern Eggs are heavy and fragile. Not only will they slow you down while carrying them, but also, if you do a dodge roll or if anything else causes you to suddenly drop the egg, it will shatter. To make things worse, the game will throw either a Rathalos or Rathian your way the moment you try to take a Wyvern Egg home.
Delivering a Wyvern Egg will take time no matter what you decide to do, so in order to make the experience less miserable, make sure to have the following:
- Unlock the pop-up camp in Area 7
- Equip an armor piece or decoration with the Outdoorsman and Intimidator skills (optional)
- Have your Ghillie Mantle ready for use
- Bring a ranged weapon and some Dung Pods (just in case)
Route
Wear your Ghillie Mantle, then carefully bring it all the way back to the Area 7 camp. You can still climb down vines by slowly walking toward their edges, but make sure not to jump down or roll when running back. The mantle will prevent any monster from spotting you.
On the off-chance that the mantle’s effect wears off, you’ll still have Dung Pods to shoo away any large monster like the Lala Barina or Congalala. Meanwhile, the Intimidator skill will prevent small monsters from attacking you altogether. The Outdoorsman skill will provide you with a movement speed boost while carrying the Wyvern Egg.
As of writing, delivering a Wyvern Egg only rewards 50 Guild Points.
