Taking to Reddit, a user known as t_sekuloski shared a picture of their incredibly detailed Deku Masks based on Majora’s Mask. According to the Zelda fan, the masks were handcrafted out of pine wood and featured a stain finish. As seen in the image, the two Deku Masks looked strikingly similar to the design seen in the popular N64 game. They included the three leaves at the top and cut-outs around the mouth and eyes. The masks also had a matching color scheme of green and brown, helping to sell the look.

When sharing the handcrafted masks on Reddit, t_sekuloski provided some additional information about the creation process. For instance, they revealed that each Deku Mask required approximately nine hours to complete, evidencing the hard work put into the project. In addition, they noted that woodcarving chisels and an angle grinder were used to create the desired shape for the wooden object. Impressively, this has garnered massive approval from Zelda fans online, with the Reddit post gaining over 3.3K upvotes.

While these Deku Masks have been a hit with fans, they are not the only woodcarvings from t_sekuloski. They noted that they had previously made the Majora’s Mask and Zora Mask from the N64 game. Furthermore, their Reddit page features other woodworking projects based on popular games, such as the Daedric Greatswords from Skyrim. In the comments of the Deku Masks post, t_sekuloski revealed they do carvings by order for those interested in purchasing one.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the initial release of Majora’s Mask. While it is unclear if Nintendo will celebrate the occasion in any substantial way, it seems likely that Zelda fans will continue to create artwork based on the game.
