Summary
- Black Tortoise Formation is great for Ice builds, absorbs damage, & deals Ice Damage to enemies.
- Azure Dragon helps with Wind builds, stuns enemies, summons tornadoes, & boosts Attack for Wind Emblems.
- Eight Trigrams gives a huge 30 percent Attack boost for Musou Attack, creates Barrier, & deals Slay Damage.
Warriors: Abyss has been out for quite a while at this point, and while there are clearly very strong Heroes in the game, it can be a bit unclear what you should build or focus on in other departments, such as Formations. With 30 Formations available via the Hall of Bonded Souls, determining which ones you should focus on acquiring can be a bit overwhelming.

Here are the best Treasures you should prioritize during your runs in Warriors: Abyss!
While they’re primarily build-specific, some are just exceptionally strong, making them worth focusing on if they pop up in the King’s Cauldron during your run, as they can provide an immense buff to your Hero and Allies, giving you a substantial upper hand as you progress further and further into the pits of hell!
6
Black Tortoise
First up is the Black Tortoise Formation, which is excellent for Ice-focused builds, allowing you to get the most out of the Emblem when activating the Formation. This places a Barrier around you while the Formation is active, which absorbs all incoming damage and deals Ice Damage to all enemies that come in contact with the Barrier.

Warriors: Abyss – All Bosses, Ranked
There are quite a few boss encounters in Warriors: Abyss, but which one is the best? We tackle that question here!
Black Tortoise won’t be viable for every Hero or situation. Still, if you happen to see it in the King’s Cauldron while focusing on an Ice build, we strongly recommend stagging it, as it is incredibly potent due to it also increasing your Attack by seven percent for every Ice Emblem you have acquired!
5
Azure Dragon
Azure Dragon follows, offering a solid Formation for Wind-focused builds, a severely overlooked Emblem, as it’s not made very clear what obtaining Wind Emblems offers. For starters, Wind will temporarily stun targets hit by the element, even shielded targets, making it a lifesaver for later zones.
Furthermore, when casting this Formation, it will summon several tornadoes around you that will inflict Wind Damage on the targets in the area, allowing you to finish them off while they’re stunned, which won’t take much effort, as your Attack will be increased by seven percent for every Wind Emblem you have. If your Hero benefits from Wind, or they can squeeze it into their build, don’t sleep on the Azure Dragon Formation!
4
Eight Trigrams
Next in line is the Eight Trigrams Formation, granting a blanking 30 percent Attack increase for your Hero’s Musou Attack, which is massive, as it allows you to deal tons of damage to bosses if you activate your Musou Attack during your Formation. If you want to see your opposition’s health get erased in seconds, this is the Formation for you.

Additionally, this Formation also summons a Barrier around you that absorbs all incoming damage and deals Slay Damage to any enemy that touches it, making it a solid choice for a Slay-focused build. While Slay isn’t needed to get the primary Formation Effect, it will make the damage the Barrier deals more potent, which is only a plus!
3
Keyhole
Keyhole offers a blanked five percent boost to your Hero’s Defense, making it a solid pick if you need extra protection or are focusing on a Defense Emblem build, as it can make you even more tanky. While Defense can often be overlooked in Warriors: Abyss, it is a crucial aspect in the later zones, so having this Formation can be the difference between life and death.
If you need a bit more to persuade you, casting this Formation will also launch several balls of Flame around your Hero that will inflict Burn on anything they touch, which can be further enhanced via Flame Emblems. So, if you’re looking to be a bit more protected and want to reduce everything to ash, pick this Formation when it comes up in your run!
2
Long Snake
Looking for something more evasive? Then the Long Snake Formation is your cup of tea, offering a blanket ten percent increase to your Speed while granting you unlimited Evades that can knock enemies into the air if you Evade through them, allowing you to flow directly into a combo.

Not only that, but Evading through an enemy will also deal Slay Damage, making this a perfect Formation for Speed and Slay-focused builds, which is one of the strongest pairing in Warriors: Abyss. If you’re playing pretty much any of the Speed-focused Heroes, pick this up when it becomes available; you won’t regret it!
1
Eight Gates Gold Lock
Lastly, we have the Eight Gates Gold Lock Formation, which is similar to the Eight Trigrams Formation from earlier but different enough that we strongly recommend it. While it only offers a 20 percent Attack increase to your Musou Attacks to its 30 percent increase, the other bonuses are arguably better.
Eight Gates Gold Lock will also set up a Barrier around your Hero that absorbs all incoming damage, but it will also slowly restore some of your HP along with it, making it very clutch in intense moments or boss encounters. And, when paired with the Charm Emblem, you can increase the duration of Formations (Assemble Gauge), allowing you to regain much more health when activating it!
