Star Wars Eclipse is a Star Wars adaptation that is heavily steeped in mystery. It’s been a long time since the game’s developer, Quantic Dream, showcased any significant update regarding the ambitious project, leaving many to wonder if that day will ever arrive. Despite the previous silence, Quantic Dream recently offered an update on the studio’s status, which has made the future of Star Wars Eclipse look far more promising.
NetEase recently shut down a variety of studios, but it appears as though Quantic Dream has not been affected, at least for now. Addressing the news of multiple shut-downs, Quantic Dream CEO & Head of Publishing Guillaume de Fondaumière reassured that all current Quantic Dream projects are continuing at “full pace.” Guillaume’s statement may not have outright mentioned Star Wars Eclipse, but the game definitely falls under the umbrella of Quantic Dream’s ongoing projects. It’s an exciting confirmation that the game is still in development, which gives it a one-up on another secretive Star Wars project: Saber Interactive’s infamous remake of Knights of the Old Republic.

2025 Hopefully Brings Good News to Star Wars Fans
Right now, a lot of gamers who also happen to be fans of Star Wars are awaiting the next great game in the franchise. Last year brought forth Star Wars Outlaws, and while it had its moments, the game has ultimately been met with heavily mixed reviews. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have been strong entries in the sci-fi franchise’s long history, but it’s unclear when the third and final chapter will be ready.

Quantic Dream may have comforted eager fans by confirming that production is seemingly going according to plan, but there’s still no new announcement in sight. It may have a slight edge against KOTOR now, but it’s still covered in a shadow of secrets.
This year is set to be a massive time for high-profile releases, and there are bound to be huge announcements and fresh looks thrown into the mix, as well. Star Wars‘ 2025 plans are being widely kept under wraps, and while games deserve all the time they need to become a strong experience, the year will hopefully offer some better updates, too.
