One Piece Chapter 1142 officially dropped today, and it is safe to say that this week’s chapter has proven to be quite interesting, to say the least. Although this chapter didn’t hit the same heights as the previous one, it is still a great addition to Elbaf, and fans know that it builds up toward more exciting events in the story. One Piece chapter 1142 finally shifted the focus back on the Holy Knights, for the most part, as they looked set to kidnap the children of the Giants from Elbaf.

Loki’s full freedom is just around the corner now, and the Holy Knights have also almost succeeded in their goal. The Holy Knights set out on their mission in One Piece chapter 1142. They were first seen assembling in One Piece chapter 1140, and fans knew that things were going to get very intense, especially since they didn’t plan on wasting any time. At the same time, however, fans were also disappointed to know that Shamrock Figarland was set to leave Elbaf. In One Piece chapter 1142, it was confirmed to the readers that Shamrock Figarland had left Elbaf. Shamrock has some other business to tend to, which is likely to attack the Revolutionary Army siege and help the World Government secure their food rations. It is highly likely that Oda will shift his attention towards that soon enough, but for now, fans remain set in Elbaf.

As far as the Holy Knights go, they finally employed their powers to get the children. Fans saw mysterious abilities at play in One Piece chapter 1142. For instance, a massive serpent-like creature was seen at the beginning of the chapter, and it was clear to the fans that this creature was none other than the mythical beast Jormungandr, also known as the World Serpent. Although some might’ve expected the World Serpent to be fake, or an illusion, it was quite clear to see in the chapter that the Serpent was actually real. This was especially proven when Principal Kiba, a former Giant Warrior Pirate, and Saul, attacked the snake together. Only with the collective effort of these two was the beast defeated, which says a lot.

Naturally, the appearance of the Jormungandr caused a lot of chaos, and fans saw the children run towards the open. Surprisingly, one after another, the children started falling asleep, which was rather strange. What’s even worse was the fact that they started sleepwalking towards the beach, and absolutely nobody could do anything about it. At first, it was quite difficult for the fans to make sense of what was going on, but slowly, things started making sense. These were all the powers of the Holy Knights. From the ability to turn nightmares into reality, to making people fall asleep and controlling them, all the way to using arrows to lead, all these are the powers of the Holy Knights, who were shown to be tremendously overpowered in the chapter.

Loki Finally Unleashes Ragnir

One Piece chapter 1142 finally saw Loki unleash his fury, although not exactly in the way that fans expected him to. The first thing to note here is that one of Loki’s feet is still cuffed, meaning he isn’t at full strength, and also that he is not able to fully move either. This keeps the Straw Hats and all the others around them safe for now. However, that doesn’t mean Loki is harmless.

Living up to the hype of the monster that he is, Loki was seen grabbing hold of Ragnir, his trusted hammer, and unleashing a powerful strike on the giant Treasure Tree Adam.

Despite having his strength sapped by the seastone, Loki can still stand, and not just that, he can also unleash powerful blows strong enough to erase whole countries in his nerfed state. If there was ever any doubt about Loki being a monster, there isn’t one anymore.

Much to the surprise of the fans, the hammer was able to conjure lightning and immediately when it struck the tree, a giant bolt of lightning fell from the heavens, burning the south side of the Sun World and reaching all the way down to the Underworld.

Undoubtedly, Loki’s power, although still not at its maximum, is absolutely majestic and fans can’t wait to see what Oda does with him next. Loki’s condition is simple. He wants to be freed fully, otherwise he will continue to rain down lightning on the people of Elbaf, destroying the country.

The Monstrous Beasts Show Up

The Holy Knights Make Great Progress

While the middle section of One Piece chapter 1142 focused specifically on the Underworld, where the likes of Loki are rampaging, the Sun World segment of the story saw the Holy Knights make great strides. After putting the children to sleep and guiding them in different directions, fans could clearly see things go from bad to worse. Whereas there was the Jormungandr to worry about easily, at the end of the chapter, fans could clearly see multiple legendary beasts, including Loki and Nika. All of these beasts have been conjured using the many fears of the children. It seems Sommers can turn someone’s fears into reality. Meanwhile, Killingham put the children to sleep, while Gunko used her arrows to guide everyone to the ship.

For now, the mission of the Holy Knights is going quite smoothly, but even if the ball is in their court, fans know that the incoming giant force is formidable themselves and that they won’t make it easy for the Holy Knights to complete their mission. Unfortunately, One Piece is on break next week, which means that fans would have to wait for two weeks for the next chapter.
