While the MyCareer mode is the highlight of the single-player action in PGA Tour 2K25, you’ll soon want to jump online to test your golf skills against other players from around the world. While the Ranked Play modes might catch your eye, there are some other options for you.
Societies allow you to further personalise your online play experience, moving away from the rigid rules of the basic modes. However, it’s not clear how they work until you dive into them, with some of the features taking some time to understand.
What Societies Are
Societies are a place for you and your friends to create a club, where you can choose who’s a part of it and decide on the rules for the rounds of golf you play.
If you make a Society, you get the chance to change the name of the club, change the emblem, set the entry requirements, whether you can use Consumables, handicaps, the playstyle, and more. You’ll then be able to set up tournaments for everyone in your Society, and then invite players.
You can join up to two different Societies, which is useful if you have multiple groups of friends playing the game.
How To Join And Create Societies
To join an existing Society, you first need select Join Society from the Compete menu. A list of popular and open Societies will then pop up. You can choose one of those, or press the left thumbstick in to begin searching for one. Enter the name of the club you want to join and then send off a request.
Once you’re accepted, you’ll be notified that you’re now a member of a new Society. You’ll then be able to jump into matches with the other members.
For the first time, Societies are now available for cross-platform play.
To create a Society, you need to select that open from the Compete menu and choose all the modifiers you want to have active for everyone who joins.
Then, shoot off invites to friends or other players and wait for them to join. Alternatively, they can search for the name of the Society and you can then approve them from your admin menu.
