How To Sell A Business
There are several ways to sell a business if you wish to do so. You’ll find the option in the following places:
- Click the open and close sign outside your business and select sell business.
- Select the Small Business menu from the bottom right-hand corner and click the price tag to sell your business.
- Go onto the Small Business option on a computer and choose sell business.
This option is easy, but small businesses are worth surprisingly little. A three-star business can be sold for just $450, less than the cost of establishing it.
How To Transfer A Business
If you’d prefer to keep your business intact, then a better option is to transfer ownership to another Sim. You can do this by selecting the Sim you want to transfer ownership to and using the Small Business option in the social menu. Under here you will find an option to transfer ownership of a business, so long as you are friends with the Sim in question.
Whenever you try to sell or transfer a business, you will get a confirmation screen so you have a chance to back out.
Both transferring and selling a business are permanent, so make sure to consider your options carefully.
Can You Pass On Or Inherit A Business?
Currently, you cannot will a business to another Sim. If your Sim passes away while still owning a business, then the business will be dissolved and cease to exist upon their passing.
What If Your Sim Dies While Owning A Business?
If you haven’t had a chance to transfer the business’s ownership before a Sim passes, you can save it by choosing to allow the diseased Sim to become a playable ghost.
A ghost in the household can still run a business, allowing you to transfer ownership before they pass on to the afterlife permanently.
