The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies focuses on an array of skills and hobbies. With this pack, gamers can make use of their best skills and favorite hobbies to open a Small Business and turn it into profit. However, Businesses and Hobbies doesn’t exclusively focus on already existing elements of The Sims 4, it also introduced its own set of fun activities and skills, namely Tattooing.

Skill cheats allow Sims 4 players to adjust their Skills without spending in-game hours working on them.
Whether Sims want to become the best tattoo artist in town or simply want to get an artpiece on their body, they can do it with Businesses and Hobbies, as it takes the simple tattoos that were already available with the base game and other packs and takes them up a notch with its very own custom tattoo tool.
How to Create a Custom Tattoo in The Sims 4
There are two ways to get a custom tattoo in The Sims 4; players can visit a tattoo parlor (or any location with a Tattooing Table) and request a custom tattoo, which will take them to Create-a-Sim, or they can go to Create-a-Sim directly and enter the Tattoos section of the Body tab.
While players won’t have to pay for a tattoo if they create directly in CAS, unless their Sim has a high level Tattooing Skill, there will be quite a few designs that they won’t be able to access. Other than that, the menu provides the same features. However, this also means that if the tattoo artist doesn’t have access to a certain design, Sims won’t be able to get it from them.
To start a custom tattoo, players will first need to decide where they want their Sim to get the tattoo. They can select the left and right, lower and upper arm, the left and right leg, the lower and upper back, the stomach, chest, and head areas.
In each of these areas, players can pick from a wide selection of pre-made tattoos, but now they can also enter Paint Mode, which gives them access to dozens of stamps, stencils, and brushes, as well as a color wheel and opacity settings. Paint Mode is what makes it possible for gamers to create any type of custom tattoo.
When creating tattoos in trickier areas, players can select different poses to help reach certain parts of the body.
Stamps
Players can select from an array of Stamps, which are great for creating small tattoos or to use as a complement in bigger pieces.
Stencils
The Stencils category features pre-made stencils that players can apply to their Sim’s skin and then color as they see fit. Here, gamers can select tattoo shapes that would be nearly impossible to get right with the Brush and Stamp tools.
Brushes
The Brushes section makes it possible for players to select a brush and create any type of design. It’s essentially a creative tool that allows gamers to draw on their Sims. This video showcases all of the tattoo tools available in Paint Mode so gamers can understand how each one works:
Players can create and select various layers when creating a tattoo. While layers that have pre-made tattoos can be moved up and down so they can be in the foreground or background, that is not possible with custom tattoos for now. Additionally, players cannot delete custom tattoo layers; they must either erase them or delete the entire tattoo.
