Death Stranding 2 Finally Has A Release Date And Its Collectors Edition Comes With A Massive 15 Inch Statue

Summary

  • Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was just featured at a panel as part of SXSW.
  • The big reveal of the night was that the sequel will be releasing on June 26.
  • Pre-orders for the game are starting this month.

During a dedicated panel at SXSW, Hideo Kojima confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is going to release on June 26, as well a collector’s edition featuring a massive “Megillan Man” statue.

Although PlayStation and Kojima Productions have been surprisingly quiet about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach over the past few months, Porters at least knew that it wouldn’t be too long until we found out more. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Kojima and several other key Death Stranding members would host a panel focus on the long-awaited sequel.

Sony’s two big games this year were absent, but that may be more tactical than it appears.

That panel just took place as part of SXSW and revealed a ton of new information about the game. Perhaps the biggest reveal of all, though, and one most of us were hoping for was the confirmation of Death Stranding 2’s long-awaited release date, which is coming surprisingly early on June 26.

Death Stranding 2 Is Coming This June

Towards the end of the panel, the big announcement that we’ve all been waiting for was revealed – Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be launching on June 26, which was revealed at the end of an unsurprisingly long trailer showing tons of new footage.

That wasn’t all, though, as the panel also revealed that Death Stranding 2’s collector’s edition will include a 15 inch Megellan Man statue, three inch Dollman figurine, art cards, and a ton of in-game items, including a few different types of skeleton and some patches.

I bought the first game’s collector’s edition and was relentlessly mocked for having a “baby in a jar” on my shelf. You know damn well I’ll be doing that again.

Of course, while it was great to see these details confirmed, it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. Earlier this week, Twitter user and reliable leaker billbil-kun announced that pre-orders for the game were imminent, alongside confirming that a $229.99 collector’s edition would be released alongside the game.
