Players can level up by crafting all kinds of weapons and armor for their Hunter in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, players need to worry about their Palico partner as well who can get new helmets, armor, and weapons. It’s much easier to craft for them since there aren’t as many options and the size of this cat creature is smaller.

6 Things That Could Make Palicos Better In Monster Hunter Wilds
Let’s give these furry pals a few upgrades to make them more a-meow-zing.
It doesn’t matter if players plan to play alone or with a party as Palicos need attention too. And like all gear in Monster Hunter Wilds, it can eventually be transmogrified and colored by the post-game section. So, let’s go through the best armor money, or Zenny as it’s called here, can buy. These armor sets will be ranked based on stats and appearance and for fun, weapons will be detailed as well.
10
Felyne Blango
Going Ape
- Associated Monster: Blangonga
The Felyne Blango armor set is one of the cutest that players can craft for their Palicos in the game. It will turn their partner into a monkey that looks like they came straight from the Ape Escape series. Their weapon is even funnier as it’s a banana with the magic element of ice imbued into it. That may not make sense until players realize they have to take down the evil ape monster known as a Blangonga to craft this set.
9
Felyne Artian
Droned Up
The Felyne Artian armor set is even wilder as it will turn the Palico into a robot-like drone. Its body will float off the ground in an acorn-like shell and the helmet will close the Palico off completely. The weapon on its back looks like a fan blade and there is no element associated with it. This mechanical drone of an armor set can be crafted once players get enough minerals like Gracium and Frenzy Shards. The only thing missing from this armor set is lasers.
8
Felyne Dahaad
The Cheshire Cat Was Right There
- Associated Monster: Jin Dahaad
The Felyne Dahaad armor set will make the Palico look like they are the Queen of Hearts from the Alice and Wonderland series. It would have made more sense thematically to craft armor that looked like the fabled Cheshire Cat but regardless it’s still good armor. The attached weapon is a mace with the element of ice like the Felyne Blango armor’s banana. Jin Dahaad is also an ice-elemental monster, so it makes sense.
7
Felyne Duna
Tribal Chic
- Associated Monster: Uth Duna
The Felyne Duna armor set has a piece of headgear that practically takes over the entire Palico. This giant headdress is accompanied by tribal armor, making the Palico look like they came from the Amazon, or maybe it’s more like the A-meow-zon.

From healing you to attacking monsters with airships, there’s nothing these kitties can’t do.
Kitty puns aside, Players looking for a different elemental weapon will have no fear as this spear is imbued with water which is technically still close to ice but it makes a difference against some foes. The Uth Duna is an elemental water monster which is why this weapon gets the splash treatment.
6
Felyne Dau
Samurai Pizza Cats
- Associated Monster: Rey Dau
The Felyne Dau armor set is cool without any gimmicks to make the Palico look out of place. They will turn into a samurai lord in the blink of an eye once players manage to take down a Rey Dau in the game. The only joke worth noting is that there was an anime back in the early 90s called Samurai Pizza Cats which just had a new game announced, but this armor set is a bit more dignified. The associated weapon is a spear imbued with the power of electricity.
5
Felyne Udra
Creepy But Effective
- Associated Monster: Nu Udra
The Felyne Udra armor set has to be one of the creepiest in the game and the look alone may make players think twice about crafting it. The head and body piece will turn their Palico into an octopus which makes sense since players will have to slay a Nu Udra to get it, a giant fiery octopus in Monster Hunter Wilds. The one piece that doesn’t make sense about this armor set is the weapon which is a large pipe imbued with fire. The element makes sense but why would an octopus have a smoking pipe?
4
Felyne Gore
The Grim Kitty
- Associated Monster: Gore Magala
The Felyne Gore armor set can be a little off-putting too but it’s scary the same way a Tim Burton movie is scary in a fun way. This armor set will turn the Palico into looking like a ghost-type Pokemon from that titular series complete with a glowing hood and misty robe. Their weapon is a scythe with the blade transformed into a lantern to make it look less lethal. It’s a cool-looking weapon imbued with the dragon element and players need to slay a Gore Magala to get it.
3
Felyne Arkveld
Open And Ready For Battle
- Associated Monster: Arkveld
The Felyne Arkveld armor set is one of the more classical pieces in the game for Palicos. The helmet kind of looks like it’s made of bone and not metal with the clasp opened up to see an angry Palico face looking back.

With five giant areas to explore in total, players won’t leave this game wanting more.
The plume from this helmet is long, almost like a cape and the armor is quite bulky but with a few tinges of colored fur thrown in for good measure. The weapon is a giant sword, also with the dragon element and players need to slay the cover monster of Monster Hunter Wilds, Arkveld, to complete this set.
2
F. Guardian Ark
Meow Souls
- Associated Monster: Guardian Arkveld
The F. Guardian Ark armor is another classical armor type for an RPG but this one has a cape. The body armor is a bit more slender than the Felyne Arkveld set and the helmet is closed with a shorter plume coming out of it. The helmet looks a lot like the cover knight from Demon’s Souls. The weapon is an equally large sword, also like the Felyne Arkveld’s, which is imbued with dragon energy. Take down the Guardian Arkveld and this armor is all but won.
1
Athos
Game Of Meows
The Athos armor set is well worth the wait because it looks incredible and has equally nice stats. The helmet is unique in that it will give the Palico a set of scars over its eye. The armor, robe, and cape set up make the Palico look like they came out of Game of Thrones. The weapon is a bit weird as it looks like it was pieced together from scraps and there is no element tied to it. Overall, this armor set has a makeshift feel to it like the Palico has been through the wringer. It’s a perfect armor set for getting to this point in the game and no monster is tied to it. Instead, players just need Fucium Ore and and Hunter Symbol 3 doctrines which can be gained from ranked level seven or eight monsters in the high ranking side of Monster Hunter Wilds.
