In Ranch Simulator, there are many ways to make money; however, at the start, you have very little, so you can’t access all of these opportunities right away. Some things may seem expensive at first, but if you’re a good rancher, you can make money from almost anything.

Every Farming Simulator Game, Ranked
The Farming Simulator series has seen some successful entries take off, and here we rank every title in the franchise from worst to best.
Focusing on the most profitable things will help you develop your ranch, buy better equipment, acquire more animals, and even decorate your ranch in the best way. The key to everything is money. In this article, we covered what you can earn more from in both early and late stages. Start making money from these things soon—time is money!
Eggs Are A Steady Source Of Income At The Start
Even though eggs are one of the least profitable resources, they require very little effort to maintain. As long as you keep your chickens fed and hydrated, all you need to do is collect their eggs twice a day. Since chickens are cheap, you can buy plenty of them without breaking the bank.
It’s a good idea to build a separate coop for your hens, and then place the same number of roosters and hens in another coop. Leave the fertilized eggs in this second coop so they can hatch into chicks. Once they grow up, you can either sell them for profit or increase your flock for free.
Eggs won’t make you rich in the late game, as each egg sells for only six dollars. However, if you fill a basket with 40 eggs, that’s 240 dollars. If you sell them to the Best Burger with the double price multiplier, you’ll get 480 dollars for a single basket.
That said, if you’ve already started making sausages, it’s smarter to save your eggs to increase the value of your sausages instead. Still, once you have a windmill and granary, daily egg collection becomes effortless. Because they’re low-maintenance and available in large quantities, eggs are a decent source of income—at least for a while.
Honey Brings Easy Passive Income
Another product you should focus on is honey. Compared to other farm animals, bees require zero maintenance. Since they don’t need food or water, you never have to worry about taking care of them. A full barrel of honey sells for 300 dollars.
If you have two wooden hives with filled hive frames, that means you can easily earn 600 dollars every two to three days without any effort. The only downside with bees is that, unlike other animals, you can’t buy them—you have to find them in the wild.
However, finding them only requires a hive frame and a one-time purchase of a bee smoker, making them one of the cheapest animals to acquire. Once you find and place them on your farm, honey extraction is also very straightforward.
The only real disadvantage is that honey cannot be sold to Best Burger, meaning you miss out on the price multiplier bonus. Still, since they require zero attention, bees are a reliable source of passive income at any stage of the game.
Wild Meat Gives You An Early Game Money Advantage
As you add more animals to your ranch, your responsibilities will naturally increase. Taking care of their food and water—especially if you don’t have a granary and windmill yet—can become exhausting. That’s why it’s a good idea to focus on gathering wild meat for a while before fully committing to animal care.
To collect wild meat, you’ll need to hunt deer, wolves, and bears. Bears are particularly valuable, as each one drops around five pieces of wild meat. Each wild meat sells for 15 dollars, but you can also give eight pieces to the Hunter for his ‘The Hunting’ quest, earning you 200 dollars.
On top of that, you can sell wild meat to Best Burger, and if you manage to catch a good price multiplier, you’ll make even more profit. Farming wild animals daily—especially in areas like the southern parts of the lake—will give you a strong income source to start your ranch with high-quality animals.
Another trick with wild meat involves the Female Rancher’s Annoying Foxes quest. Every time you accept this quest, four foxes spawn in her yard. If you kill all the foxes, collect their meat, abort the quest, and then accept it again, the foxes will respawn. This allows you to farm wild meat infinitely.
Overall, focusing on wild meat in the early game is extremely profitable, though it becomes less valuable in the late game when you have a fully established ranch.
Grapes Are the Most Profitable Small Crop
Before you move on to large crops, it’s a good idea to focus on small crops first. All you need to do is build crop plots, and the type of fruit or vegetable you plant will determine how much profit you make. Although there are several crop options available, your best bet is to focus on the most profitable one — grapes.
A pack of grape seeds costs 70 dollars, but once you harvest all the grapes, you can make around 530 dollars. Additionally, grapes are reharvestable, meaning if you take proper care of them, you won’t need to keep buying seed packs for a long time.
The only real downside is that grapes take longer to grow compared to other crops. However, the only care they require is watering. Once you build a well, you’ll have unlimited water, making crop farming very advantageous in the early game.
Later on, once you build a windmill, you can automate watering with sprinklers, allowing you to grow crops without any further effort.
The Sooner You Start Making Sausages, The Better
When you start the game, one of your first goals should be buying pigs, as they are relatively easy to take care of. You’ll need to buy one female and one male pig, which will cost you around 600 dollars. Build a fenced area for them and make sure they have food and water.
After a while, the female pig will become pregnant, and pigs breed quite fast. In fact, female pigs can sometimes give birth to up to four piglets at once. Once your pigs are fully grown — which you can tell by their appearance — if the female pig has already given birth, you should butcher the male pig.
This will give you a lot of pork, and the best way to make money from that pork is by turning it into sausages. To do this, you’ll need both a sausage stuffer and a meat grinder. Once you have these machines, you can start processing all the pork into sausages.
If you add milk and eggs to the sausage mixture and turn them into salami sausages, you can sell each one for 87 dollars. Considering a fully grown pig can provide around 20 pork, and if you process all of them into high-quality salami sausages, you can make nearly 1,600 dollars from a single pig.
Oil Provides The Best Passive Income
The only real challenge with oil is finding two active oil spots. Once you locate them, you’ll need to build a drill rig on each one. Constructing a drill rig requires 20 metal and 20 concrete, costing you around 300 dollars. Once built, each drill rig will extract 50 units of oil per hour — which is enough to fill a single barrel.
A fully filled barrel can be sold for 500 dollars. This makes drill rigs the best source of passive income in the game. Another advantage is that oil can also be sold to Best Burger, meaning you can take advantage of any price multipliers you get there.
The only downside is that if the active oil spots are far from your ranch, the trips back and forth can become tedious. However, the income you earn from oil more than makes up for the effort. To avoid this, if you’re planning for the long term, you might want to create a brand new save file and check if the active oil spots spawn closer to your ranch.
Selling Cheese Can Make You A Lot Of Money
Making cheese may seem complicated at first, but once you get used to the process, it’s definitely worth the effort. To start making cheese, you’ll need either goats or cows, as their milk is the main ingredient. Each cheese requires seven units of cow milk or four units of goat milk.
The first step is to create curd. While doing so, you can also add eggs and blue mold, which will significantly increase the final product’s value. After preparing the curd, all you have to do is place it in the cheese curing cabinet and wait.
If you sell a fully cured cheese made with eggs and blue mold, you’ll earn 175 dollars per piece. On top of that, if you sell your cheese to Best Burger and catch a good price multiplier, you can make even more money.
