Weather & Biome Overhaul
A New Way To Explore The World
At the moment, players can make their way from biome to biome whenever they like. This update will change that. After the update is live, each biome will have a unique environmental threat that players will have to overcome. From toxic smoke to radiation, each biome, aside from the pine forest, will have some sort of special threat within its boundaries.

Players struggling in the early game of 7 Days to Die may want to prioritize the following perks.
To overcome these threats, players will need to craft various consumables to give themselves temporary survival abilities. For more permanent solutions, players will need to complete special challenges to unlock permanent biome immunity.

Biome Loot Caps
The Best Loot Will Come From The Best Biomes
In the current version of the game, each biome except for the pine forest gives players a temporary loot stage boost. There’s no cap to each biome, meaning that players with a high loot stage will be able to get great loot from the easiest biomes. While exploring the more difficult biomes is often a faster way to gain better loot, it’s not required. However, the Storms Brewing update will change that. Each of the biomes will now have a loot bonus cap, meaning that players are much less likely to find top-tier loot in low-level biomes.

HUD Overhaul
A Much-Needed Change
The HUD in 7 Days To Die has remained largely unchanged over the last few years. While details aren’t yet known, this update will bring in a new HUD, as well as VFX and Sound FX changes to make things a little clearer and more immersive.
Up until this update, players have had to rely on mods to improve their HUD. So, most players will be pleased to learn that this old feature will be getting some much-needed changes and improvements.

New Zombie Types
Multiple New Enemies To Take Down
For all their merits, the zombies that players encounter get pretty repetitive after a while. Storms Brewing will bring in several new zombies for players to take down. According to the 7 Days To Die official website, these new enemies will be special “biome zombies.” It looks like these will be enemies that are unique to specific biomes; however, this hasn’t been explicitly confirmed. What is known is that there will be several new enemy types, including a Desert Plague Spitter zombie.

Big Changes To Perks
Become A Perk Master
There are four major changes centered around perks with this update. Each perk will now have 5 levels, as opposed to thevarying number of levels that perks can have now. Having a fixed number throughout will make perk selection a little easier.
All attributes will have 10 perks, with new and improved perks, increasing the perk options for players. There will also be a Mastery Perk Set for each attribute, meaning that players will be awarded for specializing in a specific attribute. The final change will see the introduction of a new General Perks tab. Perks in this tab will have no attribute requirements.

More POIs To Explore
An Estimated 50 New POIs For Players To Enjoy
There are a lot of POIs (points of interest) in 7 Days To Die. From the MeMaw Residence to Dishong Tower, there are plenty of places to search, clear, and loot. The developers have stated that they aim to bring 50 new POIs to the game.
Veteran players are always happy to have more places to visit. New POIs not only mean that there will be new players to explore, but some of them might make for a great base location.
3
New Quest Marker System
A Change That Will Make Missions Easier To Manage
No matter what type of mission the player takes on, the marker remains the same. Whether the player takes on a buried supplies mission or an infested clear mission, they’ll be greeted with a ! upon arriving at the mission area.
This update will bring in new quest markers to clearly highlight what type of mission the player is about to do. This is good for those who like to have multiple missions active at any given time, as they’ll be able to manage the mission types more easily.
2
Spawn Near Friends
No More Big Hikes To Find Friends
Being able to play with friends is one of 7 Days To Die’s most popular features. And, since the introduction of crossplay abilities, players are teaming up to take on zombies more than ever before. Unfortunately, when spawning into a world with a friend, players drop in at a random location. This can end up with players needing to make some pretty big journeys on day one in order to meet up with friends. This update will allow players to select a friend to spawn next to when loading into a world, making joint gaming sessions much easier.

Higher Gamestaged Zombies
Tougher Zombies For Tough Players
As players progress, they start coming across tougher zombies. As a player reaches the mid-to endgame stages of a playthrough, they’ll encounter Radiated Zombies. The Storms Brewing update is going to add to that by introducing Charged Blue and Orange zombies. While details are scarce, it’s safe to say that these enemies will be much tougher to kill when compared to their Green Radiated counterparts. These zombies will also have new behaviors. However, the specifics of these behaviors are yet to be clarified by the developers.
