One Piece: Oda Reveals The Legendary Beasts Of Elbaf Mythology
Elbaf has many legendary beasts. Oda unveils them in One Piece.
Undoubtedly, Loki is very powerful and fans know that they’ve only seen a glimpse of what he’s capable of. In fact, even his Devil Fruit ability is yet to be revealed by Oda in One Piece, but it goes without saying that Loki will display his powers soon. That said, Oda has already hinted at his abilities and fans might already know the monstrous powers that he wields, strong enough to threaten not just Elbaf but also the whole world.
Loki’s Portrayal In Elbaf So Far
- Loki Is The Accursed Prince
- He Can Destroy The Whole World
It goes without saying that Loki has tremendous strength, and fans knew that from the very early parts of Elbaf, when he was first introduced to the story. Immediately after Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper escaped from the Diorama that Road had built, fans knew that someone dangerous was lurking about in the Underworld. Luffy then went to check him out and saw for himself how powerful Loki was. In fact, Loki’s presence, despite being chained by Sea prism stone, was such that Luffy felt it from miles away. Apart from Luffy, the Giants also spoke consistently of Loki. According to the Giants, Loki is a monster who can not only destroy Elbaf but the whole world.
I am the Sun God who will destroy the whole world. — Loki
The Giants despise Loki for all the troubles that he’s caused over the years, but mostly for killing King Harald, the greatest known King of the country, and then stealing the Devil Fruit that was passed down the royal line and consuming it. Loki gained such power that he openly began calling himself the Sun God who will destroy the world, and according to the Giants, he actually has the strength to back it up.
Loki killed King Harald 14 years ago, and that’s also when he ate his Devil Fruit. He also set out to the sea at some point, and that’s where he made a name for himself. Despite not having a crew, Loki gained a 2.6 billion berries bounty, and he continued to trouble the Government, until Shanks took him down six years ago, a feat that earned him the Yonko title.
According to Scopper Gaban, Loki has power that can destroy Elbaf, and at the same time, strength that has far-reaching repercussions. Before Shanks, nobody in Elbaf was able to stop Loki, which means that he’s most certainly on the same tier as the likes of the Yonko of the One Piece world. Given that Loki packs such strength, it is no surprise to know that even a Yonko such as Luffy might not be strong enough to take him down and his powers are on another level entirely. Now, when it comes to the powers that Loki has, fans know that they are mostly hidden, but there are a few that Oda might actually have already revealed.
Loki’s Two Most Powerful Abilities — Fire And Lightning
Fire And Lightning Are Elbaf’s Two Biggest Weaknesses
Time and again, Loki has been called the enemy of Elbaf. He’s also been called the man who can lay ruin to Elbaf and potentially even the world. Loki’s strength is immense enough to destroy countries, and specifically, here, Elbaf. Now, recently, Oda also revealed to the fans what power Elbaf is weak to the most, and while most won’t draw a connection to Loki, it most certainly could be. After seeing the remains of what was once Haugen Village, Franky was bamboozled and wondered what exactly happened there. Ripley explained that a branch of the Adam Tree was cut off long ago when lightning struck and led to mass fires.
Due to the part of the Adam Tree being old and dry, it led to fires that couldn’t be extinguished. This is where Ripley stated clearly that Fire and Lightning are Elbaf’s biggest weaknesses. Of course, Ripley didn’t mean that Loki has these powers, but that Elbaf, in general, is weak to these abilities. However, this, when taken into consideration along with the fact that Loki is called Elbaf’s biggest enemy, means that Oda could’ve cleverly used it to highlight Loki’s two powers — Fire and Lightning.
You can say that fire and lightning are Elbaf’s two biggest weaknesses. — Ripley
In One Piece chapter 1141, fans saw Loki finally being freed from his chains, or at least most of the chains. One of his feet is still chained, meaning he cannot access his Devil Fruit power still. However, Loki can still move about. But, that doesn’t matter for now, because most of the focus is on his hammer— Ragnir.

One Piece: Oda Might’ve Revealed Loki’s Devil Fruit
Loki’s devil fruit has already been revealed by Oda. The true extent of his power is yet to be seen however.
Clearly, Ragnir is based on Mjolnir, Thor’s Warhammer from Norse mythology. This hammer can conjure lightning in certain media, and fans know that Oda could very well use it in a similar manner, especially when taking into consideration the fact that Ragnir literally means Iron Thunder. The fact is that Loki can conjure lightning using Ragnir, which gives him the power of lightning, and thus, makes him an enemy of Elbaf. Since he already has one power that is Elbaf’s biggest weakness, what are the chances that he has the other one as well? Quite clearly, it is very likely. While lightning comes from his hammer, Ragnir, fire should come from his Devil Fruit.
What Devil Fruit Does Loki Have?
Loki’s Devil Fruit Could Have Immense Firepower
When it comes to fire Devil Fruit, there is one that stands atop all, and that is the power of the Mera Mera no Mi. However, Loki cannot have this Devil Fruit, simply because it already has a user. The Mera Mera no Mi is wielded by Sabo currently, meaning Loki cannot have a pure fire Devil Fruit.
This means Loki can have a Devil Fruit that can help him conjure fire instead, and raises the chances for him having a Mythical Zoan fruit. In mythology, one creature is specifically known to be able to conjure immensely powerful fire, and that is a Dragon. Although Eastern dragons aren’t known to have this power specifically, Western Dragons most certainly are. Specifically, in mythology, there is Nidhogg, who holds such power. So, Loki could have the Nidhogg Devil Fruit. It is also possible that Loki has the Jormungandr fruit, as this serpent is also known to hold fire-breathing powers. Lindwurm is yet another candidate.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1141, is set to be March 2, 2025.
