Summary
- Marvel Rivals’ latest update lets players report leavers.
- This could solve the issue of people rage quitting in competitive mode.
- However, some fear that it will punish those who experience game crashes on PC.
There is almost nothing more frustrating than a leaver in a hero shooter. Being down a team member can often feel like a guaranteed loss, as it’s incredibly hard to come back from being at such a disadvantage.
Like any hero shooters, Marvel Rivals has its fair share of leavers. It’s annoying in quick play, but easily remedied by them being swapped out with another player. This isn’t possible in competitive through, so losing someone to a rage quit is only going to make the loss sting that much worse.

Now, NetEase is doing something about it. As of the latest update on March 6, players are able to report people for leaving a match. Presumably, this is so you can report those leaving maliciously, perhaps because you’re losing or they’ve gotten into a fight with a teammate, since this can ruin competitive matches.
New Marvel Rivals Update Goes After Leavers
You can finally report rage quitters
As spotted in the latest patch notes, there is a change made to the reporting system.
“You can now report those who leave matches prematurely via the menu while still in a match,” the patch notes read. While this is not explicitly stated, this is presumably intended for those who leave maliciously, as opposed to those who are kicked because their internet disconnected. That might be the reason to centre it around reports from other players, since both they and whoever goes over the offence can determine if they left on purpose.
Of course, that is just speculation. In the replies, fans point out that sometimes, they cannot control the fact that they’ve left a match, especially if they’re on PC and the game has crashed. If this happens, they say they don’t have the option to rejoin, even if the match is still ongoing.
On the whole though, it seems that the community is pleased that leavers can be reported. With that said, there are still improvements to be made with the moderation. As players have been pointing out recently, there’s a real issue with bigoted abuse in the playerbase, and it seems that very little is being done about it.
