It goes without saying that the world of Boruto has continuously introduced fans to some of the most overpowered characters, such as the likes of Momoshiki Otsutsuki, Kinshiki Otsutsuki, and later down the line, even stronger ones such as Isshiki Otsutsuki. Fans know that stronger enemies only mean that the main characters are going to get even stronger and that’s why, for many fans, having such powerful characters introduced is exciting, since it means that their favorites will get even stronger.

Something similar happened to the most beloved character in the Naruto franchise, Naruto Uzumaki, who reached the pinnacle of power with an ability called Bayron Mode. Of course, it was later revealed to be a double-edged sword, as it led to Kurama’s death. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Baryon Mode is truly dead. This is a phenomenal power that absolutely needs to be reintroduced in the story, in one way or another, and there is already a strong premise for it to return, through not one but two characters.
What Is The Power Of Baryon Mode?

- Naruto’s Trump Card Against Isshiki Otsutsuki
It goes without saying that when Isshiki Otsutsuki was introduced in the story, fans knew that the likes of Naruto and Sasuke were in for a surprise. Unlike the other Otsutsuki seen in the story so far, Isshiki was on a completely different level altogether, although he didn’t have the perfect vessel. But, when Kashin Koji forced him to come back to life in Jigen’s body, he brought out his full power, although only for 3 days. During this time, Isshiki was essentially invincible and even though Naruto and Sasuke joined forces to fight him, they were far inferior to him, which was quite clear.

This is precisely why Naruto Uzumaki had to come up with a completely new power, and thanks to Kurama, it was made possible. It was Kurama who suggested the usage of Baryon Mode to Naruto Uzumaki. According to Kurama, this power simply used their chakra as kernels and used it to create a fat greater energy source. The physics behind it is simply the concept of nuclear fusion, and as Kurama put it, it’s like the Sun’s power itself. Of course, that also meant that there was a strict time limit on this ability, and at the same time, Naruto was to fight in a relaxed manner. Any wasted movements could prove to be costly as the whole point of the transformation was to conserve as much chakra as possible.
Using this new transformation, Naruto Uzumaki reached a very high level. He was able to fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki not just on an even footing, but on a level above him. Isshiki truly struggled to beat Naruto and knew that he was simply powerless, making Naruto the strongest in the story after Shibai at that point. Unfortunately, Baryon Mode eventually ran out and Kurama died, leaving Naruto far weaker than before and stripping his Tailed Beast power from him. Baryon Mode has, since then, died as a power-up, but it could very well make a return once again in the story later down the line.
Why Baryon Mode Still Has A Future For Both Himawari And Naruto
Baryon Mode is a phenomenal ability and fans know that this kind of power needs to return to the story. With the author already establishing the return of Kurama, it is now a real possibility, but there are most certainly going to be differences here in how it is going to be used in the future. First things first, Bayron Mode absolutely cannot result in any other death in the future, because that would be too redundant. This power also cannot be used knowing that it is so risky.

Boruto is a disappointing sequel. Naruto has the potential for a prequel to Boruto.
As such, Baryon Mode needs to be improved upon and mastered so that it doesn’t result in death and it also gives the user a massive spike in power at the same time. Now that Himawari Uzumaki is the Jinchuriki of Kurama, fans know that it is time for her to shine in the future, and the Baryon Mode power could be pivotal for her character moving forward.
Himawari’s Baryon Mode And Why It Will Work
Fans know that Himawari Uzumaki has been entrusted with a ton of power in the Boruto series, and with Kurama, she can’t be irrelevant anymore. As such, he has to join the bigger fights in the future, which means that she needs big power-ups like Baryon Mode. Fans might be wondering as to why Kurama won’t die with Himawari won’t die while using the power of Baryon Mode when he did with Naruto. The reason is quite simple and it has already been established in the story.
When Kurama and Himawari fought against Jura, the former made it quite clear that Himawari was his best vessel, simply based on how much synergy they showed. The chakra synchronization between them is off the charts and even better than it was in the case of Naruto and Kurama. As such, it is quite clear for the fans to see that Himawari can utilize Kurama’s chakra better than Naruto did, which means, overall, more efficient usage, which in turn gives rise to the possibility of Baryon Mode actually being stable over shorter stints. This power-up would push Himawari to the next level.
Naruto’s Baryon Mode Is Still A Possibility
Meanwhile, Naruto Uzumaki has the opportunity to use Baryon Mode as well. As mentioned previously, Naruto Uzumaki should still have the chakra of the Tailed Beasts in him. Even if he somehow magically doesn’t, he can seek out the Tailed Beasts, since he’s linked to them through the psyche, and ask for a portion of their chakra. This chakra can then be used in a plethora of ways, and if Naruto trains to control it, perhaps he can use a unique version of Baryon Mode that won’t result in death. In theory, this should be entirely possible as it has never been specified that only Kurama’s chakra can be used for Baryon Mode. If Naruto gains access to any form of Tailed Beast chakra, then using his own chakra and that of the beast as kernels, he can unleash this majestic power, and once again, rise to the very top as one of the most powerful characters of all time.
Of course, whether or not it’ll happen is another thing entirely, but fans know for a fact that there are grounds for Naruto Uzumaki to hit the next level of power in more ways than one.
