Honkai: Star Rail – Best Builds And Light Cones For Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei is one of the strongest limited characters in Honkai: Star Rail, and here’s everything you need to know about her build.
This path has been one of the most popular and broken since its release since it contains the most valuable characters. However, you might still want to invest your resources in the right characters if you want to beat the hardest content.
Updated on March 08, 2025, by Sanyam Jain: HoYoverse has given some of the most broken units to the Harmony path ever since its launch, and this trend continues with the release of Sunday and Tribbie. We’ve added them to this list!
11
Asta
- Rarity – Four Star
- Combat Type – Fire
Asta might be the last on this ranking of Harmony characters, but she’s still completely viable in combat, especially if you’re using a Fire DPS unit. Unfortunately, in the current state of the game, there isn’t a very good Fire carry to make her as good as other Harmony units.
Her Skill deals DMG to random enemies up to five times, and for each unique enemy hit, she can gain a stack that increases the team’s ATK. These stacks get reduced quite fast when she gets a turn, so she becomes far less viable against single-target opponents like Kafka or Malefic Ape. However, the SPD provided by her Ultimate is one of the most useful stats in the endgame content.
10
Yukong
- Rarity – Four Star
- Combat Type – Imaginary
Yukong’s kit sounds quite enticing in theory, but it becomes a lot worse in practice because of how much you have to SPD-tune your team. Her Skill applies an effect that gives a massive ATK boost to all allies, but it only lasts for the next two ally turns, which means that your DPS might not even get this boost if the turn order isn’t perfect.

Honkai: Star Rail – Best Team Members For Yukong
Yukong is quite a flexible character who can be used with many characters in Honkai: Star Rail to get tons of value during combat.
This problem becomes even worse if you try to use her with Jingliu since she can get two turns at the same time when she enters her buffed state. However, all these issues are solved once you get the sixth Eidolon on Yukong, making her one of the best support units for Imaginary DPS characters.
9
Hanya
- Rarity – Four Star
- Combat Type – Physical
Hanya has a unique kit that’s specifically targeted at buffing characters that consume a ton of Skill Points like Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae or Qingque. Her Skill applies the Burden effect on a single enemy, and every second attack on that enemy recovers a Skill Point. This effect can be triggered two times, and the attack that applies Burden also counts for the SP-recovery.
Unfortunately, once you get a better understanding of the game, you won’t necessarily need these extra Skill Points, and the other buffs provided by Hanya might not be as good as the other supports. However, she has a high chance of getting higher ranks if the game shifts towards single-target meta.
8
Bronya
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Wind
Bronya is a Standard five-star character in Honkai: Star Rail, meaning you can get her at any point on the Standard Banner or if you lose your 50:50 on the limited character banner. You can also easily pick her up if you manage to do 300 pulls on the Standard Banner, which means that you’ll eventually have her on your account one way or another.

Honkai: Star Rail – Best Team Members For Bronya
Bronya is a fantastic buffer in Honkai: Star Rail, and here are the team members that can benefit the most from it.
Even though she’s in the third position, Bronya is likely one of the best supports you’ll have for most DPS characters in the game. She has the ability to dispel debuffs, give characters an instant turn, and increase their DMG and Crit DMG massively. The only reason for her low position is her inability to synergize with DoT teams and the excessive use of Skill Points.
7
Robin
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Physical
Out of all the characters in Honkai: Star Rail, Robin has one of the easiest to understand and the smallest kits. She gives a direct 50 percent DMG boost to the entire party with her Skill, while her talent increases everyone’s Crit DMG. However, the unique part about her kit is the Ultimate.
With his, she gives an instant turn to every ally and performs a coordinated attack whenever an enemy is attacked. While this sounds quite phenomenal, Robin doesn’t fair too well if you don’t use her in a follow-up team composition since it gets quite difficult to get her Ultimate back in time.
6
Tingyun
- Rarity – Four Star
- Combat Type – Lightning
Tingyun is one of the two four-star Harmony characters who were in the game from its launch, and she has constantly maintained her place as the best four-star unit you’ll find. This is because of how much ground her kit covers. From Energy Regeneration and ATK boost to DMG and SPD boost, she has it all with a few Eidolons.
While she’s great with another Lightning DPS, you can use Tingyun with nearly any character in the game. She might be a little squishy by default, but you can easily circumvent that by building a bunch of DEF and HP on her since she doesn’t need any other stats.
5
Sparkle
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Quantum
It doesn’t seem like HoYoverse plans on reducing the value of characters on the Harmony path, and Sparkle is yet another example of it. She essentially overcomes Bronya’s shortcomings by giving a Crit DMG bonus along with action advance in her Skill itself, which allows you to use it much more often.
Her Skill is already good enough to be an entire character, but the Ultimate makes it even better by providing a whopping four Skill Points and preventing any SP-deficit you’d have in your team. All of this combined with the DMG bonus from the Talent and the Ultimate makes her the best buffer for any DPS unit who uses Skill Points and relies on Crits.
4
Harmony Trailblazer
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Imaginary
With the way Harmony Trailblazer works, it’s almost surprising that they belong to this path. This unit doesn’t have any buffs for your allies with their basic attack or skill. Instead, they use a more aggressive approach by regenerating their own Energy when an enemy’s Weakness is broken and giving the team a special effect upon use.
During the Ultimate’s effect, every attack on the Weakness Broken enemy comes with an extra Super Break DMG that scales on the Toughness DMG of that attack and the Break Effect of the attacked. In the right team, you can see every attack dealing over 50,000 DMG to the enemy as long as the Ultimate lasts.
3
Sunday
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Imaginary
Even though Sunday was shown during the very first update of Penacony, players still had to wait quite a long time to get him as a playable character. However, the wait was worth it as Sunday is currently one of the best units for any DPS character that relies on Crit.
He can provide a hefty DMG bonus to an ally with his skill while also giving them an instant turn, and this bonus grows if the buffed ally has a summon. Furthermore, he can provide a ton of Crit DMG with his Ultimate and Crit Rate with his Talent, making him the perfect pick alongside Remembrance units.
2
Tribbie
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Quantum
Honkai: Star Rail is known for releasing niche support units that are phenomenal at their job, but can only be used in certain teams. So, getting an all-rounder support that also gives one of the strongest buffs while dealing respectable damage is a huge deal, and that’s what happened with Tribbie.
With her Skill, Tribbie can provide a whopping 24 percent RES PEN to all allies on the field for three turns. She can also increase their DMG dealt to the enemies with her Ultimate, which easily has a 100 percent uptime. The buffs Tribbie provides can be used by every play style including DoT, which is what makes them great.
1
Ruan Mei
- Rarity – Five Star
- Combat Type – Ice
Finally, the most recent five-star Harmony unit easily takes the second spot in this list. The entire kit that Ruan Mei possesses is unique since she can increase the party’s Weakness Break Efficiency and All-Type PEN, which are two stats that you can’t generally get on Light Cones or Relics.
This not only allows your DPS characters to do extra DMG, but also delay enemy turns massively once they get a turn, making it viable to use no sustainer in your team. If you put Ruan Mei with a DoT team, you’ll see yourself easily beating the hardest content in the game.
