This article will list the best bows you can find in Dragon’s Dogma 2, including the Magickal bows as well. Some of these bows can be found randomly throughout the world, while some will require you to kill enemies to acquire them.
Updated on January 22, 2025, by Britt Poteet: The game has been out for a while now, and we have a greater understanding of the game world, monsters, and combat systems as a whole. This list has been updated to include the most current list of weapons, with two additional entries to choose from.
12
Savage Fang
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
148 |
150 |
While Savage Fang
isn’t the strongest bow, it’s a great option early in the game. Made from the teeth of an uncommon beast, it is prized for its impressive strength.
It’s easy to acquire, as you don’t have to finish a quest or explore crazy areas to find it. You can purchase this weapon from Roderick’s Smithy. While it’s a bit expensive, it’s worth the cost if you have the gold.
11
Veteran’s Arc
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
163 |
150 |
Obtained at various points throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2, including Celeste’s Smithy in the Checkpoint Rest Town, the Veteran’s Arc
is one of the best early-game bows in the game. It has solid strength and knockdown stats and is also quite affordable.
The only downside of this bow is that it comes with a high carry weight of 3.65 KG, making it a little bit tough to carry around. However, the increased strength and overall damage-causing power are probably worth it.
10
Repeller Bow
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
170 |
190 |
The Repeller Bow
is a powerful weapon for an archer. It’s rewarded after the A Trial Of Archery Quest, but finishing it takes some work. After fighting, traveling the map, and rescuing Doireann, you get this strong bow known for its Knockdown Power.
This strong bow is wrapped in the hide of a divine creature, delivering extra damage to chimeric foes.
9
Darkening Storm
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
198 |
210 |
An even better option than the Veteran’s Arc is the Darkening Storm
, which comes with much better stats and a lower weight as well. What makes it even better is that it is available for free, and you just need to know where to find it.

As seen in the image above, the Darkening Storm can be found in a chest to the west of the Checkpoint Rest Town. There will be a couple of chests in that area so make sure to go through all of them, and you will eventually find it.
8
Militant Dove
Magick |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
330 |
210 |
The Militant Dove
is the first Magick Bow on this list and one that comes with quite an interesting status effect. You can purchase this bow at Grisha’s Armory at Sacred Arbor and its stats are some of the best for a bow of its category.
What makes the Militant Dove so special is that you will take more damage from attacks while equipping it, but it will also heal you when standing still. This is definitely not the ideal bow for all situations, but it can come in handy in some fights.
7
Dragon’s Blink
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
256 |
190 |
can be purchased at Awaran’s Arms in Bakbattahl and is a great choice for the early to mid-game. Not only does this bow look great, but it also does a lot of damage, so there aren’t too many reasons not to go for it.
The only downside of the Dragon’s Blink is probably its high price of 48,500 G, which can make it unaffordable for some players. Regardless, it is still a great bow to purchase, and players who don’t have enough money can choose to go for other free options with similar stats.
6
Revenant Wail
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
280 |
220 |
The Revenant Wail
is a bow that can be obtained in various locations, such as the Volcanic Island Armory and many other armories, but only in the endgame. This bow brings a great upgrade to strength and the Knockdown Power, which can make it very effective in taking down bosses in the late game.

This weapon becomes even deadlier once enhanced, and its only downside is its relatively high default weight of 3.87 kg, which can become annoying at times.
5
Medusan Spellbow
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
300 |
268 |
This is another bow that comes with a curious status effect. It consumes much more stamina than a normal bow and grants four times the XP on landing a killing blow. While this is a great bow with some amazing stats, the only problem comes in obtaining it.
You will need to kill Medusa to get this bow; even then, it isn’t guaranteed. There is an approximately 18 percent chance of getting this weapon dropped from Medusa, which means you will probably have to kill her several times to get it.
4
Dragon’s Rancor
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
308 |
248 |
If you are struggling to get the Medusan Spellbow
, then this is the next best thing. The Dragon’s Rancor
can be purchased from the Dragonforge at the Bay Wayside Shrine for a price of 110 Wyrmslife Crystals, but only during the endgame.
The lighter weight of this bow and its higher strength compared to the Medusan Spellbow makes it a much better choice. While getting the required Wyrmslife Crystals won’t be too easy, it is still possible, especially during the endgame.
3
Dragon’s Breath
Magick |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
350 |
175 |
Dragon’s Breath is one of the two best Magick bows in the game due to its ability to set opponents on fire. Its high damage stats and easy accessibility make it the perfect bow for taking on bosses in the endgame.

You can purchase the Dragon’s Breath at the Volcanic Island Armory for 55,900 G, or you can just complete the “Put a Spring in Thy Step” side quest to obtain it as a reward from Gautstafr.
2
Grianmhar
Magick |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
420 |
309 |
Simply the best Magick bow in the game, the Grianmhar
does extra damage to draconic enemies, including dragons and drakes. Its Magick rating and knockdown power make it one of the best weapons to take on enemies.
The only negative part of this weapon is that it is only available in the endgame, where it can be brought for 110 Wyrmslife Crystals at the Bay Wayside Shrine. Although you won’t be able to use this bow effectively in your first run, it will make life a lot easier if you choose to take on the NG Plus mode.
1
Hydra Husk
Strength |
Knockdown Power |
---|---|
340 |
268 |
Like the Grianmhar, the Hydra Husk
is also only available in the endgame, although this is not a Magick bow. This bow has the best stats out of any regular bow in the game, with a very high strength of 340, and can be purchased for 75,000 Gold at many armories in the endgame.
Every archer in Dragon’s Dogma 2 should try to get their hands on the Hydra Husk, as there is simply no going back after this. Not only does this bow cause a lot of damage, but it also looks incredible while doing so.
