Of course, while fans are focused on analyzing the events of the latest One Piece chapter, at the same time, it is quite clear that the next one is going to be absolutely decisive in many ways. Unfortunately, fans won’t be able to see the events of One Piece chapter 1143 anytime soon because Oda has decided to take a break next week, so the manga will only be returning towards the end of the month.
One Piece Chapter 1143 Delayed: Oda Takes A Break
- Oda Delivered 3 Chapters In a Row
- Usual Schedule Returns For Oda
One Piece fans enjoyed quite a stable run of chapters over the last few weeks. As fans know, Oda usually drops 3 chapters a month and then takes a two-week-long break. This has been the One Piece break schedule for quite some time now. However, things have changed quite a bit over the course of the last few months. One Piece’s release schedule was quite chaotic towards the end of 2024 for a multitude of reasons. Oda decided to take a break so he could plan further developments in the Elbaf arc. At the same time, Oda also took a long break for health-related reasons, and One Piece Live Action filming only added to the chaotic release schedule. At the end of the year, the holiday period struck, which meant that fans would get fewer chapters.
Of course, things have stabilized since. In fact, in 2025, Oda has already delivered four chapters in a row, which he did for the first time since 2022, showing great energy. Now, Oda delivered another 3 chapters in a row, and although some fans had hoped for a fourth one, just like the last batch, Oda chose otherwise. One Piece is officially going to be on break after the release of One Piece chapter 1142, which is scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2025.
As for what’s next, fans can expect the manga to skip Jump in the week after. In other words, there will be no One Piece chapter next week. One Piece Chapter 1143 will not be released on March 16. Instead, the manga is going to be moving to the next Jump issue, which is set to be released on March 23, 2025. As such, One Piece will only return towards the end of the month now, which, although sad for some fans, is also good in many ways, because fans know that Oda too needs his rest from time to time. Oda maintaining his health only means that One Piece will maintain high quality, and at the same time, frequent breaks are also a blessing in disguise as they prolong the story of One Piece itself. Perhaps, the breaks aren’t so bad after all. Furthermore, fans also get the chance to reread all the chapters and dive deep into different elements at play, such as Elbaf mythology, among other things.
Although One Piece chapter 1143 is quite some time away, fans know that the upcoming manga chapter is still going to be discussed quite a lot. Fans are already looking forward to what’s coming next, and it is most definitely going to be fascinating. As always, we’ll break down what we think will happen next in One Piece.
One Piece Chapter 1143 Will Show A Fearsome Battle Against Elbaf Beasts
The Beasts Of Elbaf Are Taking Over The Sun World
One Piece chapter 1143 will most definitely focus on the fearsome beasts of Elbaf. In the previous chapter, Saint Sommers showcased his incredible ability that stunned all fans. Essentially, Sommers has the power to bring people’s fears to life and have them face them. This is a dangerous ability that not everyone can contend with, especially children.
As seen in the previous chapter, the children of Elbaf have given rise to some absolutely dangerous monsters, such as Loki, Nika, Fenrir, Jormungandr, Nidhogg, and Draugr, among others.
It’s the worst fears of the children that have come to life! — Ange
These beasts are all on the prowl and are looking to run riot in Elbaf. They absolutely need to be stopped, and fans know it won’t be easy. As seen in the previous chapters, the power of Saint Sommers isn’t one that causes hallucinations. The fears actually turn to reality, as was shown clearly in the manga when Kiba and Saul were able to attack Jormungandr directly.

Loki is the powerful Accursed prince of Elbaf. He might have some godly abilities in One Piece.
In other words, One Piece chapter 1143 will see the fighters of Elbaf challenge these beasts. The Giants of Elbaf who were in the Western Village have been alerted, which means they should be on their way soon. In the meantime, Robin, Saul, and the other teachers are going to have to work on their own. For them to beat such powerful beasts might not be possible at the moment, which is what makes the next chapter so exciting. Help will most definitely be required in One Piece chapter 1143, and whether that will come through the rest of the Straw Hat crew, or through the Giant Warrior Pirates, which includes Dorry and Brogy, remains to be seen.
Loki’s Final Cuff Will Be Released
The Straw Hats Will Let Loki Go
As seen in the previous chapter, Loki is hell-bent on forcing those around him to free him. Loki has one cuff on his foot but he’s still strong enough to cause large-scale destruction. As mentioned by Loki himself, for someone with his strength, keeping just one sea stone cuff isn’t enough. Loki can still do damage, as he already has, and he plans to stop that only if he’s fully freed. As such, fans should expect Luffy and the crew to fully free him in One Piece chapter 1143, possibly right at the very end.
Did you think leaving one leg cuffed would be enough to sap my strength? Unlock it, now! — Loki
If Loki is fully freed in One Piece chapter 1143, then fans should expect a glimpse of his true Devil Fruit ability, which could be revealed at the very end of the chapter. One Piece chapter 1144 could be where Loki’s full powers will be revealed to the fans, and undoubtedly, every single fan of the story is already looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there is a bit of waiting to do, but it is definitely going to be worth it.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1142, is set to be March 9, 2025.
