Moonrise, an upcoming anime project by Wit Studio, best known for the production of the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, and veteran author Tow Ubukata, is set to broadcast worldwide through Netflix’s streaming platform on April 10. The streaming service also revealed the series’ main staff and cast, screenshots from the anime, as well as the series’ official theme song, “It’s All Right”, by Aina the End.
The upcoming sci-fi will follow the conflict between Earth and the Moon, the citizens of which are fighting for independence. Beyond the promise inherent to animation production by Wit Studio, the anime also boasts character designs created by Fullmetal Alchemist author Hiromu Arakawa.

What We Know About Moonrise So Far
A TItle Previously Slated For 2024 Is Finally Ready
As mentioned before, Moonrise is a project created by Tow Ubukata, produced by Wit Studio, with Attack on Titan seasons 2 and 3 director Masashi Koizuka taking up the director’s seat as well as overseeing the series’ scripts. Character designs are by Fullmetal Alchemist, Legend of Arslan, and Silver Spoon author Hiromu Arakawa, with Ayumi Yamada, character designer of Attack on Titan, adapting those designs for animation. Ryo Kawasaki will compose the music. Moonrise was originally set for broadcast sometime in 2024 as per the original announcement made for the series in September 2022, but that was obviously delayed, for reasons unknown. In addition to the series’ April 10 premiere date, a host of new staff members were also announced:

Based on what we have been told about Moonrise, the series is set in the near-future and will be set on both Earth and the moon, following the lives of Jack and Al, two men who face various difficulties in the unforgiving void of space. According to a statement by Wit Studio president and CEO George Wada, “All action and scenery in the unexplored parts of the Moon will be illustrated using an innovative type of animation unlike any seen before,” which is an exciting thought and piques interest in the upcoming series.
Moonrise is set to broadcast worldwide on Netflix on April 10.
