Animal Crossing: New Horizons player mengo_pudding shared a series of real food dishes they made based on some of the food-themed Animal Crossing Villagers. They took inspiration from the rhinoceros Merengue, the squirrel Marshal, and the octopus Zucker. While Merengue’s name is based on the Latin dance, her design is inspired by the meringue dessert, which is what OP used as the basis for a beautiful strawberry and cream cake. Marshal, though not directly connected to any food items, was cleverly transformed into marshmallows, or “Marshal-mallows.” Zucker, who is not only an octopus but is themed after the Japanese street food takoyaki, or fried octopus balls, was perfectly transformed into a classic snack food. All three dishes thoughtfully captured the essence of the beloved villagers and made for a delicious take on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Fellow community members quickly flooded the replies to OP’s Villager foods with words of praise, with many asking for the recipes to be shared for others to enjoy.
