In Ranch Simulator, each animal offers different mechanics. At the beginning, you will have chickens, but increasing variety on your ranch benefits you. This way, you can diversify income sources. No matter which farm animal you choose, they all need care — they need food and water.

Every Farming Simulator Game, Ranked
The Farming Simulator series has seen some successful entries take off, and here we rank every title in the franchise from worst to best.
However, this is not the case for bees. Since bees require no care, they are the easiest to manage. Because bees are not sold anywhere, you need to know where to find them. In this guide, we’ve covered everything you need about bringing bees to your ranch and producing honey.
How To Find Beehives
Bees are different from other farm animals in Ranch Simulator. While you can purchase other farm animals from the General Store, this is not the case for bees. You cannot buy them — instead, you need to find them.
Beehives spawn on uncut trees outside your ranch. However, just like in real life, don’t think you can simply reach into the hive and collect the bees with your bare hands. You will need some specific equipment for this.
Essential Equipments For Collecting Bees
The first item you need is a bee smoker, which costs seventy-five dollars. You can place the bee smoker under the hives you find, allowing you to safely collect the bees without taking any damage. The other item you will need is a hive frame, each of which costs twenty dollars.
After finding a beehive, you need to transfer the bees from the hive into the hive frame so you can transport them back to your ranch. If you plan to get into beekeeping, purchasing one bee smoker and five hive frames is a good starting point. This initial investment will cost you one hundred seventy-five dollars.
Once you have the necessary equipment, your next task is to find the beehives. For this, you will need to leave your ranch. Beehives don’t spawn everywhere — some areas make it easier to find them. Here are a few recommended locations where you can encounter beehives:
- The trees down the road south of the General Store.
- The trees east of the Car Shop.
- The trees northeast of the Gas Station.
- The trees east of the female rancher’s house.
These areas tend to have more beehives compared to others. Beehives are always found on the lower part of tree trunks, so you don’t need to check higher branches.
How To Transfer Bees To Hive Frames
When you find a beehive, place the bee smoker underneath it and turn it on. You will see smoke coming from it. After this, grab one of your hive frames and interact with the beehive to transfer the bees from the hive into the frame.
Once you’ve transferred the bees into the hive frames, you’ll want to bring them back to your ranch. However, you’ll need something to place them in — this is where the wooden beehive comes in. To build a wooden beehive, you’ll need fifteen wood planks and two metal.
Each wooden beehive can hold up to five hive frames. When placing the frames inside the wooden beehive, remember that the bees can still sting you — so make sure to use the bee smoker again to calm them down.
Once the hive frames are placed inside the wooden beehive, the bees will begin producing honey. If you open the top of the wooden beehive, you’ll see the progress percentage for each frame. When a frame reaches one hundred percent, it will turn bright yellow and become fully covered with honey.
The final step is to extract the honey from the frames. To do this, you need to build a honey extractor. Building a honey extractor requires twenty concrete and twenty metal, which you can buy from the Hardware Store. When your hive frames are fully loaded with honey, place a barrel under the extractor’s spout.
Then, open the lid at the top of the extractor and insert up to five hive frames into the metal slots inside. Once again, use the bee smoker during this process to avoid getting stung. After placing the frames, turn on the extractor, and the honey will start flowing into the barrel. With five full frames, you can extract almost seven units of honey.
Each barrel holds up to seven and a half units, and selling a full barrel will earn you three hundred dollars. Finally, unlike other animals, bees do not need food, water, or any care beyond this process.
