Winning matches in WWE 2K25 boils down to positioning and controlling your opponents, as well as hitting them with everything but the kitchen sink. Dragging the opponent on the ground can set them up for high-flying moves in the corner, positioning them against the ropes, guardrails, and turnbuckles. The in-game tutorials do a great job of showing the basics, but there are multiple ways of positioning your opponent and setting them up for the next signature or finishing move. Use the following steps to drag, control, and position your WWE opponents in WWE 2K25.

How To Drag A Standing Opponent
It’s better to wait until your opponent is stunned or tired before trying to grab and drag them around the ring. Trying it too early will get it reversed and countered. Once they are sufficiently worn down, use the following steps to drag a standing opponent:
- Initiate a grapple with the B/Circle button.
- Press the L1/LB button.
- Walk your opponent around with the left joystick.
- Get them close to the ropes, turnbuckle or the guardrail and press the X/Square button to slam their head into the corner or place them on the ropes.
- To position the opponent against the ropes, avoid pressing the attack button. Instead, move them toward the ropes to automatically prop them up against it for an attack.
- Then, press the grapple button again to perform a move.
How To Drag A Grounded Opponent
The same rules apply if the downed wrestler isn’t stunned or if it’s too early in the match; the opponent will counter the drag mechanic. Use the following steps to drag a downed opponent:
- With an opponent down, stand at their side and press the grapple button with B/Circle.
- Then, press the L1/LB button to grab their feet and arms.
- Use the left joystick to drag your opponents around the ring or at ringside.
- The player character has a limited time to drag their opponent around the ring before they break free.
Use The Snapmare To Ground An Opponent
You can also use the snapmare by moving the right joystick up to get your opponent down and place them in the seated position for more attacks or to initiate the grab.
Dragging Opponents Outside The Ring
Taking the fight outside the ring will allow you to drag and position your opponents on the guardrails, the ring apron, and the announcer’s table.
- If the wrestlers are inside the ring, press the B/Circle button to grab your opponent.
- Then, hold down the B/Circle button and the left joystick toward the ropes to throw them over the top rope.
- Follow them outside and grab the standing opponent with B/Circle.
- Press the LB/L1 button and walk them toward the guardrail with the left joystick to position them in the ringside environment.
- You can use the ring post, guard rail, or the announcer’s table as weapons for more damage.
- In addition to propping them into position, you can use the attack prompt with X/Square to slam them into the rail.
That’s everything required for dragging and controlling opponents in a WWE 2K25 match inside and outside the ring.
