After accepting the quest, you’ll have to travel to the Scarlet Forest, where Gemma will be waiting for you near Lala Barina’s location. Once you start fighting against the monster, Gemma will ask you to lure the monster to her.

You can easily lure the Lala Barina to Gemma, but the monster might be fighting against a group of Conchas. These smaller ape-like monsters will make it difficult to attract Lala Barina’s attention, so it’s recommended that you take them out first.

You can also use Dung Slingshots to make the Concha run away from the battle site.

Once the coast is clear, and it’s just you and the Lala Barina, you can lure the monster toward Gemma’s location, and she will unleash a trap that will hold Lala Barina in place for a while. After that, Gemma will no longer take part in the battle, and you’ll have to defeat Lala Barina on your own.

After you’ve successfully defeated Lala Barina and completed the hunt, you’ll have to return to the base camp and talk to Gemma to complete the Smithy’s Seal of Quality side quest. Completing this side quest will unlock Gemma as a Hunting Assistant, and she might join you on future hunts to make them a little easier for you.
