One Punch Man: 6 Characters Who Need More Screen Time
Despite being fan favorites, these One Punch Man characters have been away from the spotlight. But the creators still have time to make things right.
Of course, One Punch Man is centered on many different superheroes, and most of them disappointed audiences in the past few seasons because they barely appeared on-screen. This will finally change for the better in Season 3, since the Monster Association Arc is filled to the brim with epic moments and incredible fight scenes that will prove how amazing and powerful all these characters truly are. Fans of the following eight One Punch Man heroes will be happy to know that they will shine in the upcoming season.
1
Tatsumaki (Tornado of Terror)
She Won’t Do Much Until The Very End, But It’ll Be Worth It
- First Appearance: Chapter 32 (Webcomic) Chapter 30 (Manga) Episode 6 (Anime)
The S-Class Rank 2 heroine, Tatsumaki (also known as Tornado of Terror), is without a doubt one of the most popular characters in One Punch Man. She stood out in the two previous seasons due to her stubborn personality and incredible psychic powers, and, fortunately for her fans, she will once again get a chance to shine in Season 3.
It’s important to point out that, despite what the trailer may imply, Tatsumaki doesn’t really do much in the Monster Association Arc until the very end, where she stars in one of the most epic fights in the series, against a particularly strong opponent. So, fans of this character should be patient and wait until the very last episodes of the season to witness one of her best moments.
2
Puri-Puri Prisoner
One Of Season 1’s Most Unusual Characters Will Make a Comeback
- First Appearance: Chapter 25 (Webcomic) Chapter 24 (Manga) Episode 8 (Anime)
The S-Class Rank 13 hero, Puri-Puri Prisoner, stood out a lot back in Season 1 because of how bizarre his design and fighting style are. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance to do much during Season 2, except for a brief but important appearance at the very end, when Nyan kidnaps the prisoners of Smelly Lid Prison.
The good news is that this sole plot thread is what will finally inspire Puri-Puri Prisoner to move once again and get involved in the mission to take down the Monster Association. While he won’t be as important as other characters, he will star in an exciting fight against a really strong monster, and it will be wonderful to see it animated.
3
Zombieman
He Will Finally Prove He Belongs In S-Class
- First Appearance: Chapter 32 (Webcomic) Chapter 29 (Manga) Episode 10 (Anime)
Zombieman was introduced alongside all the other S-Class heroes back at the end of Season 1 and yet, he hasn’t done much in the anime ever since. Aside from his very funny role in one of the OVAs and a brief scene involving the House of Evolution in Season 2, this mysterious undead hero still hasn’t proven why he’s ranked sixth in the Hero Association.

One Punch Man is one of the best comedy-action manga and these are similar works great for fans of the series.
But this will finally change in Season 3 because Zombieman is a key player in the Monster Association Arc. Not only will the story finally delve a little bit into his origins, but he will also be the star of two violent and epic fights against powerful opponents that, if animated properly, will have a huge impact on the audience. However, it is currently unknown if Zombieman’s second fight in this arc will be part of Season 3 or if it will be relegated to Season 4.
4
Drive Knight
A Mysterious Hero That Will Play An Important Part In The Mission
- First Appearance: Chapter 32 (Webcomic) Chapter 30 (Manga) Episode 10 (Anime)
Similarly to Zombieman, Drive Knight is yet another S-Class hero that appeared at the very end of Season 1 and who hasn’t done much after his debut. He did have a brief but impressive scene in Season 2, and he will have an even bigger role in Season 3, especially because he relayed a lot of important information about the Monster Association to the Hero Association.
Just like Tatsumaki, Drive Knight will be MIA for most of Season 3 but, if the story is properly paced, he will most likely make a surprise appearance at its very end. Not only that, but his ensuing fight is so amazing that the anime’s audience will finally get the chance to witness his complex, practical and cool-looking abilities.
5
Flashy Flash
He Will Soon Become One Of The Most Important Heroes In The Show
- First Appearance: Chapter 32 (Webcomic) Chapter 30 (Manga) Episode 10 (Anime)
The dichotomy between Flashy Flash’s role in the anime and the manga is quite funny. Based off of his appearances in previous seasons, this S-Class hero doesn’t seem or feel like an important character, whereas he has become one of the most relevant and important characters in the manga, especially during its current arc.
This sudden change took place during the Monster Association Arc, which means that anime watchers will finally get to see why Flashy Flash is such a strong and interesting hero during Season 3. Of course, he will get involved in a cinematic fight against two powerful opponents, but he will also get some much-needed character development, not to mention that he’ll even accidentally befriend Saitama.
6
Bang (Silver Fang)
He Has A Personal Relationship With The Hero Hunter, Garou
- First Appearance: Chapter 20 (Webcomic) Chapter 21 (Manga) Episode 7 (Anime)
Most One Punch Man fans fondly remember Bang (AKA Silver Fang) for not only being one of the most incredible old men in anime, but also because he is Garou’s former master, to the point that he even mentioned him back in Season 1. This, of course, means that he will have a very important part to play in the upcoming season.

Like all the other important heroes that will face the Monster Association, Bang will take part in some incredible battles that display his martial arts expertise to their fullest extent. He will not be alone, however, since his older brother Bomb will be right by his side, and together they are a truly unstoppable force.
7
Saitama (Caped Baldy)
The Main Character Will Star In Some Hilarious Comedic Scenes
- First Appearance: Chapter 1 (Webcomic) Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 1 (Anime)
Needless to say, the main character of the entire series, Saitama, will get involved in the Monster Hunter Association Arc and will play a huge part in the fight against Orochi and his underlings, even if it’s by accident. Fans of this overpowered hero will be delighted to finally see him back in action after almost six years.
It’s important to keep in mind that Saitama is so incomparably powerful that the story would get boring and repetitive if the viewer followed him all the time. So, he will take a backseat for most of the season, which is a good thing, because it means he will give the spotlight to the other heroes. Of course, Saitama will eventually get to do some really important things in the story, especially since his interactions with both the Monster Association and Garou are both awesome and hilarious.
8
Isamu (Child Emperor)
The Star Of One Of The Most Over-The-Top Fights In The Entire Series
- First Appearance: Chapter 32 (Webcomic) Chapter 30 (Manga) Episode 10 (Anime)
Despite his short stature and youthful appearance, the S-Class hero Child Emperor (real name: Isamu) is possibly the most important member of the Hero Association. He has the brains, the gadgets and the fighting abilities that will help him become one of the key players of the Monster Association Arc. This character has already had some standout moments in previous seasons, but Season 3 will finally prove how intelligent, heroic and formidable he can be.
Child Emperor will basically lead the heroes in their mission, and he will even befriend some of the kidnapped children. However, he is especially going to shine and make an impact on the audience because of his fight against one of the most powerful monsters in the villainous association. If adapted correctly, this awe-inspiring encounter will be one of the highlights of the season, and Isamu will become a fan favorite in an instant.
