The Nvidia RTX 4060 is one of the best graphics cards for 1080p gaming, and it doesn’t break the bank. Nvidia is reportedly working on their new entry-level GPUs: the GeForce RTX 5060 and the 5060Ti, but those will come at a premium price and availability might take time. The Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop features a 15.6” IPS LCD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 144Hz. This machine is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS processor, which has a clock speed of 3.1 GHz and does well in light to moderate gaming loads. For memory, the dual 8GB sticks of DDR5 RAM run at 5600MHz. The 512GB SSD is where Lenovo has cut corners, so you are better off investing in an external SSD. The laptop has a matte-gray plastic construction, which feels decent, but it is certainly not the most premium one available. For such a low price, few will be complaining, though. Remember that the RTX GPUs come with the added advantage of supporting AI frame generation, known as DLSS. This technology can significantly boost frames without crushing frame times, but the image quality takes a slight hit.
Some Downsides
The laptop can only run for three hours before running out of battery. This shouldn’t be a deal-breaker though, as gaming laptops deliver the best performance when plugged into the wall, meaning you should be plugged in while gaming rather than relying on battery power.
It should also be mentioned that the screen does poorly against reflections, so using it in a bright room will be challenging. Along with this, the screen isn’t really designed for any activities that need accurate colors, as it, unfortunately, has poor color coverage.
