Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Release Seven-Star Tera Raid Against Popular Starter

Summary

  • A Seven-Star Tera Raid event against Skeledirge runs from March 6 to 13 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
  • Skeledirge the Unrivaled is a Tera-Fire Pokemon with high special attack and HP stats.
  • Skeledirge’s moves include Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Stomping Tantrum, and Hyper Voice.

On March 6, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched a Seven-Star Tera Raid event against Skeledirge the Unrivaled, following the Meowscarada event. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have until March 13 to face Skeledirge the Unrivaled in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens scattered throughout the Paldea region.

Known as the Singer Pokemon, Skeledirge is the final evolution of Fuecoco and Crocalor and evolves at level 36. Skeledirge is a Fire and Ghost dual-type Pokemon with high special attack and HP stats, but it is slower than its counterparts, Meowscarada and Quaquaval. As the Fire-type Starter of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Skeledirge can hold its own against other comparable starters, as its signature move, Torch Song, boosts its special attack by one stage with each use. Along with moves like Shadow Ball, Snarl, and Earth Power, Skeledirge’s repertoire of attacks makes it one of the most malleable Pokemon in the Paldea region.

After Pokemon trainers easily defeated Meowscarada the Unrivaled, a new Seven-Star Tera Raid boss battle went live. As of this writing, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have until 7:59 PM EST on Thursday, March 13, to face Skeledirge the Unrivaled in Seven-Star Tera Raid battles. According to Serebii.net, Skeledirge the Unrivaled has the hidden ability Unaware, which ignores any stat changes its opponents make. Skeledirge’s moves are Shadow Ball, Torch Song, Hyper Voice, Stomping Tantrum, Disarming Voice, and Flame Charge.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Launch Skeledirge Tera Raid (March 6 to 13, 2025)

Skeledirge will use Disarming Voice and Flame Charge immediately at the start of the battle, which can put unprepared Pokemon trainers at an early disadvantage. Skeledirge has the Fire type as its Tera type and grants the Mightiest Mark to trainers who defeat it. Additionally, Skeledirge will drop Fire Tera Shards and EXP Candies and has a small chance to reward some Herba Mystica.

As a Tera-Fire Pokemon, Skeledirge is susceptible to Water, Ground, and Rock attacks. Strong Water Pokemon like Kyogre, Primarina, and Quagsire are effective counters. Considering that Skeledirge’s Unaware ability negates any stat building that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players do, getting rid of it via Skill Swap is recommended. Since Torch Song, Hyper Voice, and Disarming Voice are sound-based moves, having a Pokemon with the Soundproof ability or the move Throat Chop will help. Skeledirge will put up a raid shield when it reaches 75% HP and ramps up its assault after the shield breaks.

Along with the new Tera Raid event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players still have time to claim free items via code distribution. What strategies Pokemon trainers will use against Skeledirge the Unrivaled remains to be seen.
