Pokemon Fan Builds LEGO Version of Mew

A Pokemon fan has created an impressive version of Mew built out of LEGO bricks. The Pokemon LEGO build does a good job of recreating the iconic Gen 1 Pokemon, and those who are interested in making their own can find out how the builder did it.

Pokemon LEGO builds are quite popular, with LEGO fans choosing a selection of bricks from existing kits to create whatever they set their mind to. Despite the popularity of the builds and how the community pays attention whenever a nice Pokemon LEGO build is presented, there are no official Pokemon LEGO kits. Some series fans have been upset by this, but it doesn’t stop the most committed builders from making impressive works.

Now, Pokemon fan and LEGO builder Eyemcantoeknees has shared a new creation, revealing a Mew built entirely out of LEGO bricks. Mew is seated on top of a clear pillar housed in a Poke Ball-like base, making it look like it’s floating, with its back feet turned up in front and its large tail curling up behind its head. The Mew even has little nubs for ears and its blue eyes, making this blocky rendition of Mew quite recognizable. It’s one of many examples of iconic Nintendo legends remade in LEGO form.

Pokemon Fans Express Interest in Building Mew

Outside of general praise for the build and look of the almost mecha-like Mew, some fans have wondered how the artist went about making it. Eyemcantoeknees notes that interested viewers can look at their website to get a list of the bricks used in the build, as well as the directions needed to follow along. Eyemcantoeknees estimates that Mew costs about $30 to build if one buys the bricks that are needed individually, and 118 pieces were used to make the Mew. While there may be some complexities to the build itself, the relatively low brick count may make this an accessible project for those inexperienced with LEGO.

Those feeling inspired by the idea of creating LEGO Pokemon builds may be interested in checking out what else eyemcantoeknees has produced. The same artist previously drew attention for some of their other Pokemon LEGO creations, including Eeveelutions, Houndoom, Magnemite, Ho-Oh, Absol, and more. While a partnership between LEGO and Pokemon hasn’t been secured like with some of Nintendo’s other games, with a little dedicated effort and the help of fellow LEGO builders, it’s still entirely possible to create impressive and easily recognized LEGO replicas of some of the most iconic pocket monsters in the series.
