Elbaf has showcased some amazing Devil Fruits. This paramecia one might be one of the most terrifying in One Piece.
That certainly isn’t all. Fans also know that the Elbaf arc of One Piece has the Holy Knights play a massive role in the story for the very first time as well, and that in itself is very exciting as well. In more ways than one, the One Piece series continues to get more exciting, and now, Oda has expanded upon the mythological creatures in Elbaf greatly. The Elbaf lore keeps getting richer and all of this will eventually come into play in an even more exciting manner, especially as the story gets to tackle the villain group that is the Holy Knights.
Oda Reveals The Legendary Beasts Of Elbaf
- Sommers Used His Incredible Devil Fruit Ability
- Elbaf’s Mythological Creatures Came To Life
One Piece chapter 1142 was absolutely incredible, as Oda finally elaborated upon the powers of the Holy Knights. Specifically, one character whose abilities were seen to be way too overpowered was Sommers, who appears to be one of the most dangerous enemies that the Straw Hat Pirates have ever had. Saint Sommers is a big threat and there is absolutely no denying that. Now, with his powers, fans know the true extent of his abilities, even though he’s yet to lift a finger himself, which makes him extremely impressive.
Fenrir is the scariest of them all! — a kid from Walrus School
Coming over the Sommers’s Devil Fruit ability, it is most likely a Paramecia power. Saint Sommers had the power to bring to life the worst fears of anyone. This was seen in One Piece chapter 1142, when he used his abilities on the children of Elbaf. Before Shamrock left Elbaf, he asked the Holy Knights to make a game out of the mission that they had in Elbaf. Essentially, they have to kidnap the children of Elbaf and then take them back with them to the Holy Land of Marijoa. Since the kids don’t have the Abyss marking, they cannot pass through the Abyss, meaning they’ll have to be taken by ship.
One Piece chapter 1142 saw the game finally begin, and it all started with Sommers’s powers. With the power to turn people’s worst fears into reality, Sommers gave life to the worst fears of the Giant children. At first, fans saw the World Serpent Jormungandr in One Piece chapter 1142 attack the Walrus School. This snake was absolutely massive and needed the collaboration of Professor Kiba and Saul to be defeated. Soon enough, more beats started appearing out of nowhere. Fans saw what looked like an absolute massive mythological bird, and more importantly, a massive wolf, which was quite clearly the Fenrir from Norse mythology.

Loki’s devil fruit has already been revealed by Oda. The true extent of his power is yet to be seen however.
As Sommers’s power continued to be displayed, fans saw many other legendary mythological beasts come to life as well. For instance, Fenrir was clearly seen take form, as did Loki himself, the Accursed Prince who many Giant children fear. There was also Nika, the destroyer of the World, and of course, the Skeleton soldier Draugr. To top it off, even the legendary dragon, Nidhogg was seen in One Piece chapter 2142, and all these monsters are now running rampant in Elbaf.
The Powers Of Elbaf’s Legendary Beasts
The Elbaf Beasts Hold Monstrous Power
Undoubtedly, the many beasts that fans saw take form in One Piece chapter 1142 possess tremendous powers. Starting with Jormungandr, fans know that the world serpent is absolutely massive and that it can breathe fire, and at the same time, engulf the entire world. Of course, the version of the Jormungandr that was shown in One Piece 1142 was rather weak, but still tough enough to require Kiba and Saul to team up against it.

Fenrir: Known to be a monstrously powerful wolf, Fenrir is said to hold power great enough to kill even Odin in Norse mythology. It is said they Fenrir can set the world aflame, and that makes him quite special. Fenrir can, essentially, destroy the whole world, and given that Loki has also been called the destroyer of the world, it is possible that he has this power.
Nidhogg: Nidhogg is a legendary dragon who is said to be found at the roots of the World Tree Yggdrasil. It is said to be capable of spewing powerful fire and essentially represents great evil. Once again, this too has a strong chance of being the Devil Fruit ability of Loki.
Nika The Destroyer: Fans need no introduction to Nika. Known to be the Sun God, Nika holds different meanings for different people. While some believe that Nika is a Warrior of Liberation, others think he’s the ruler of the world, and some others believe that he is the destroyer of the world. Interestingly enough, the Nika that appears in One Piece chapter 1142 saw the destroyer of the world come to life.
Loki: Just like Nika, fans already know all about Loki. He’s the Accursed Prince of Elbaf who is said to have been monstrously powerful right from birth. Loki caused all sorts of problems right from the get-go, and eventually, even killed his own father, King Harald. He did this to consume the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. Loki is known to be strong enough to destroy the whole world, and Elbaf is just the beginning. Wielding the legendary hammer Ragnir, Loki can conjure lightning, with the powers of his fruit still remaining unknown. The kids of Elbaf definitely fear Loki, as he is one of the main manifestations seen in One Piece 1142.
Draugr: Known to be a zombie-like monster, fans know the Draugr to be a powerful entity firm Nordic mythology. Clearly, Draugr exists in the world of One Piece as well, specifically as a part of Elbaf mythology. This is essentially an undying skeletal giant that possesses tremendous powers.
Seeing all these powers, it is no surprise to know that the next few chapters of One Piece are going to be absolutely massive. There is certainly going to be a big fight in Elbaf between the beasts and the Giants and Straw Hat Pirates, all to save the children, but whether or not they’ll succeed remains to be seen. Unfortunately, One Piece will be on break next week, meaning fans will have to wait for two weeks to see further developments in the story.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1141, is set to be March 2, 2025.
