Summary
- Loki Ate The Legendary Devil Fruit Of Elbaf.
- Loki’s Powers Remain A Secret.
- Loki Could Have The Power Of Fire And Lightning.
One Piece chapter 1142 gave fans quite an exciting look at Loki, the Accursed Prince of the Giants, and it is safe to say that Oda delivered upon all expectations that the fans had of him. As expected, Loki is quite a dangerous giant who possesses immense powers. One Piece recently gave the fans a glimpse of what he can accomplish using his Warhammer, Ragnir, and it was truly fascinating. However, that is only a glimpse of what Loki can accomplish.
Fans know for a fact that Loki possesses a mighty Devil Fruit ability as well, and this ability will most likely be revealed to them within a chapter or two. But, even though Oda hasn’t shown this power just yet, it is highly likely that he’s already hidden it in the story without the fans noticing. One Piece chapter 1142, in particular, is one where fans likely got their first hint of the power that Loki has, and it is safe to say that it most certainly won’t be the last one.
Loki’s Mysterious Devil Fruit
- Loki Ate The Legendary Devil Fruit Of Elbaf
- Loki’s Powers Remain A Secret
Loki is one of One Piece’s most important characters and in the Elbaf arc, he’s destined to play a big role. When Loki was first introduced in the Elbaf arc of One Piece, fans were clearly told that he was the Accursed Prince and a man who is also very dangerous. It was revealed that Loki has been a mischievous giant ever since his childhood days, and on top of that, he’s caused the Giant race quite a lot of pain. More than that, fans were also told that Loki went on to kill the King of the country, King Harald, known to be the mightiest King in the history of the country. Loki’s intentions with this weren’t made clear. All that was said was Loki set his eyes upon the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf which had been passed down the royal line for generations.
I am the Sun God who will destroy the world. — Loki
After murdering King Harald, Loki went on to consume the Devil Fruit, but the entirety of Elbaf joined forces to restrain him And sentence him to death by crucifixion. At some point, Loki seemingly escaped and even went to the sea, where he wreaked havoc using his legendary Devil Fruit power. The threat that he posed was such that the World Government issued a Special Bounty for Loki, and it amounted to 2.6 billion berries. Nobody in the world could stop Loki, until he crossed paths with none other than red-haired Shanks, who was, at the time, a Great Pirate of the Sea. Shanks was the one who defeated Loki and brought him back to Elbaf, where he had been tied up since then.
Loki has been in the Underworld of Elbaf for about 6 years now, and during this time, he has stayed patient, waiting for his opportunity to pounce. If there is one thing he knows, it is that he has the power of the Sun God and that he will destroy the world using it. In Loki’s mind, he is Nika, or will become Nika, and that gives fans an idea of what kind of ability he holds.
Oda May Have Introduced Loki’s Fruit Through Fears
Saint Sommers Showed Fans The Fears of The Children
One Piece 1142 was quite an exciting addition to the story, and for many reasons. Quite easily, one of the biggest and most important reasons why fans absolutely loved this chapter was the ability reveal of Saint Sommers. One of the Holy Knights, Saint Sommers is known to be very powerful and his ability certainly goes to back that up. One Piece chapter 1142 saw Sommers use his power on the children of Elbaf, and shockingly enough, it delivered some terrifying results. Thanks to Sommers’s Devil Fruit ability, the worst fears of the children came to reality.
It’s the children’s fears that have come to life. — Ange
For instance, right at the beginning of the chapter, fans could see the Jormungandr, the world Serpent, in all its glory, attacking the children at Walrus School. This snake was most certainly one of the fears of the children in Elbaf. Soon after, other beasts started to emerge.
Fans saw the likes of Loki, who was one of the fears of a giant child, and even Fenrir, the fear of yet another. Some feared Nika himself, and as such, even a monster version of Nika showed up due to the Devil Fruit ability. Nidhogg, yet another powerful Monster from Norse mythology, also showed up in One Piece chapter 1142. Some gave rise to ghosts, while others gave rise to storms, and of course, more mythological beasts, such as Draugr and Jormungandr were thrown into the mix as well.
Clearly, these are all the legendary creatures from Elbaf mythology, and given that they exist in history as lore, their Devil Fruit counterparts must also exist, if Vegapunk’s theory is to be believed. This also means that one of them could be Loki’s very own Devil Fruit, and fans are eagerly waiting to see which one it will end up being. Thankfully, there is already a hint that Oda has given to the fans about Elbaf’s biggest weaknesses.
What Power Does Loki Have?
Loki Could Have The Power Of Fire And Lightning
In One Piece Chapter 1141, Ripley stated that Elbaf’s two biggest weaknesses are fire and lightning. Fans know that Loki already has one of these two powers in his possession. He wields the power of Ragnir, a legendary weapon that can conjure lightning, as seen in One Piece chapter 1142. However, Ragnir isn’t the only power that Loki has. He also has his Devil Fruit, and if one power is directly connected to the two weaknesses of Elbaf, the other could very well be as well.
Clearly, whatever creature Loki is must have the power of fire. There are quite a few legendary beasts in One Piece chapter 1142 that could use fire, and these are Jormungandr and Nidhogg, specifically. In particular, Nidhogg is a great choice for the Devil Fruit ability of Loki, as this is a giant dragon and most certainly a ferocious one. Of course, that’s not to say Jormungandr won’t be a great pick or that Fenrir can’t be Loki’s power, but at the moment, it is likely that the ability is that of Nidhogg. A very exciting but less likely possibility is Loki having the power of the Nika the destroyer, an alternate version of the actual Nika.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1141, is set to be March 2, 2025.
