The Boruto series is the continuation of Naruto, and fans know that there are a ton of exciting elements at play in this sequel story. It goes without saying that Boruto has never, and will never, hit the same heights as Naruto, but that certainly doesn’t mean that it can’t have fun elements at play. The story of Boruto certainly has a lot to offer, even though it can be lacking in many aspects. However, one thing that fans absolutely cannot stand in the Boruto series is the way the legends of the world are treated.

Boruto is a disappointing sequel. Naruto has the potential for a prequel to Boruto.
Simply put, the Boruto series is rather disrespectful towards the likes of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, along with all the other major Naruto characters from the old story. Naruto. Uzumaki has been a victim of the plot on many occasions, just for the sake of giving the newer generation a chance to shine, and while that doesn’t have massive consequences usually, what Boruto did to strip Naruto’s power certainly does. Naruto needs new powers in Boruto, and it is possible that the answer to his problems lies in the Tailed Beasts of the world.

It goes without saying that Naruto Uzumaki was expected to be at the forefront of things in the Boruto series. Given that he’s the strongest in the world among the Shinobi, when bigger enemies would show up, Naruto would, naturally, be at the center of it all. That’s precisely what happened at the beginning of the Boruto story, as Naruto and Sasuke found themselves playing a central role with the arrival of Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Together, the two played a significant role in defeating Momoshiki, setting into course even bigger battles. Soon after the fall of Momoshiki, the organization known as Kara presented themselves, and fans got to see the power of their leader, Jigen. Jigen was the vessel of Isshiki Otsutsuki, and both Naruto and Sasuke did their best to beat him, but thanks to the power of the Ten tails that he’d absorbed, taking him down was borderline impossible at the time.
Things got even more dire when Isshiki Otsutsuki appeared in the flesh after Kashin Koji forced him to release the power of his Karma. Once again, Naruto and Sasuke were forced to fight Isshiki and take him down, and while Sasuke couldn’t do much in this battle, Naruto was more than just competent. Using the full power of Kurama, Naruto Uzumaki unleashed an ability known as Baryon Mode, and this power was essentially akin to nuclear fusion.

Using Naruto’s chakra and that of Kurama as kernels, it gave rise to a completely new form of power that was so astronomical that it dwarfed the power of even Isshiki. Naruto was, undoubtedly, stronger than Isshiki at his peak, and because of him, Isshiki was finally beaten.
However, it was quite clear to see that this power wouldn’t come without a price. It came as a shock to the fans when it was revealed that the usage of Baryon Mode caused the death of Kurama. With that, Naruto Uzumaki was left without any Tailed Beast, and at the same time, fat weaker than before. His biggest power was then Sage Mode, and even though it made him a competent fighter, he wasn’t strong enough to fight the likes of Code or other Otsutsuki anymore.
Why Naruto Should Still Have Tailed Beast Chakra
The Other Tailed Beasts Maintain A Bond With Naruto
Bizarre as it is, Kurama is no longer with Naruto, but instead inside Himawari, his daughter. Meanwhile, Naruto Uzumaki is sealed away in the dimension of Daikokuten, thanks to Kawaki. But, eventually, he is set to return. When Naruto does return, fans know that he will want to get stronger, because otherwise, it wouldn’t make any sense for him to continue as the Hokage of the village. Naruto is the defender of not just the village, but the world. He’s the Child or Prophecy, and for him, staying weak is not an option.
Kurama most certainly cannot return to him, but that definitely doesn’t mean that the other Tailed Beasts won’t.

As was seen in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki had a portion of the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts, making him a pseudo-Ten-Tails Jinchuriki. Even if Kurama’s power is no longer inside him, Naruto should still have access to the other beasts’ chakra. This was clearly the case when Naruto used the power of Lava Release against Delta. Even if, in some magical way, the power disappeared, fans know the Tailed Beasts do exist, and they can share their power with Naruto once again. Gaining a portion of the power of the first eight Tailed Beast should be enough to restore Naruto Uzumaki to extremely high heights.

At the same time, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to any fan that, slowly, Kurama’s chakra has been fusing with Naruto’s own, and becoming his to control. Over the years, a big portion of Kurama’s Tailed Beast chakra has become Naruto’s own, which should theoretically still be within him since it doesn’t qualify as Kurama’s chakra anymore, but his own. Taking into account all these powers, it is clear that Naruto should still maintain Tailed Beast powers in the future in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Naruto May Not Be A Jinchuriki
Although Naruto most certainly is not a Jinchuriki anymore, that doesn’t mean he cannot have the chakra of the Tailed Beasts. The Gold and Silver brothers are prime examples of what Naruto could be. Just by feasting upon the flesh of Kurama for a short amount of time, the two brothers for access to Kurama’s power to the point where they could easily access the four-tailed state as well. Naruto, who had had Kurama’s chakra fuse with his own for decades, should still have more Tailed Beast powers. Moreover, if the other Tailed Beasts reshare their chakra with Naruto or simply reestablish the link they once had, Naruto Uzumaki will most definitely have power similar to the Jinchuriki once again.
For now, Naruto remains to be sealed, but it goes without saying that he’s going to have a big role to play in the future, and that every reader is desperately waiting for the return of the Seventh Hokage. It will definitely be glorious to witness, at least if Ikemoto stops using the old generation to simply put the new one on a pedestal.
