Among these numerous people in the Kuttenberg region is Foreman Vlach, whose questline starts with Henry helping the people of the mines and ends with him participating in a shooting range. How does this happen? Well, engage in his quest, and you will see the series of quests he will send you on. But for the sake of this guide, we will cover how to complete and win the shooting competition during the Popinjay Shoot quest.
How To Start The Popinjay Shoot
Upon completing the Striped Tonies quest, you’ll automatically receive the Popinjay Shoot, which will lead you to the Archery Range southeast of Kuttenberg in the morning.
At the entrance, you’ll find Vlach waiting for you. Speak with him, and he will ask Henry to practice in place of Anton. Be sure to agree to this in order to officially start the quest.
If you want to increase your chances of winning the competition, make sure to save your game here.
How To Complete The Popinjay Shoot
The shooting competition involves competing against others using a crossbow to hit popinjay targets, with your goal being to hit more targets than your opponents.
There are nine targets in total: six positioned on barrels and chunks of wood and three hanging from sticks.

You’ll have a crossbow and nine arrows. To guarantee a win, aim to hit at least four or five targets.
Start by targeting the ones on the left, as they are closer and easier to shoot.
There are four that should be easy to hit, so you should be able to get them.
It’s fine to miss once or twice, but if you’ve lost more than three arrows, it’s better to reload your save and try again.
Whether you win or lose, the Popinjay Shoot will be completed, though the reward will depend on your performance.
