A Base Camp in each region provides every service to the Hunter, and serves as your base of operations in the locale. What Are Pop-Up Camps?
In Monster Hunter Wilds, Pop-Up Camps are fast travel points and camps that the Hunter can place down in specific locations in each region. Here, you will have access to all of your normal Tent actions as well as some of the basic conveniences of the base camp, like access to the Quest Board via Alma.
There are typically around a dozen pop-up locations in large regions, and less in smaller regions. But unlike Base Camp locations, Pop-Up Camps can be destroyed by wandering monsters, preventing the Hunter from being able to Fast Travel there until it is repaired.
You can increase your Pop-Up Camp limit in Monster Hunter Wilds by increasing your Hunter Rank. Hunters start off with the ability to set up one Pop-Up Camp, and as you raise HR, you’ll be able to setup more in each locale.

Pop-Up Camp locations will be highlighted by your character and their party when you get close. Your character should point out the specific spot, but look for a group of Quartreflies to find the specific Pop-Up Camp location.
Once discovered, Pop-Up Camp locations in Monster Hunter Wilds are marked on the map with a symbol of a signpost with a blue tent on it.
There are two ways to set up a Pop-Up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds: standing on the Quartreflies location and setting it up manually, or talking to the Help Desk at a base camp to set it up remotely.
- If you come across a Pop-Up Camp location in the wild, walk over to the Quartreflies location, then scroll through your Item Pouch on the Item Bar until you reach the Camping Kit item. Use this while standing in the area highlighted by Quatreflies (and pay the Guild Point cost) to set up a Pop-Up Camp.
- To set up a Pop-Up Camp remotely, you must have first discovered its location. Then, talk to the Help Desk Palico and open up the ‘Manage Pop-Up Camps’ menu. Here, you can pay a Guild Point cost to immediately set up Pop-Up Camps on revealed locations, then Fast Travel to them as normal.
How To Repair Pop-Up Camps
Pop-Up Camps run the risk of being destroyed by wandering monsters. The game will usually tell you when a monster has destroyed a Pop-Up Camp, which means you cannot use it as a fast travel point until it is repaired.
To repair Pop-Up Camps, you can either talk to the Pop-Up Camp Purrfessional at the destroyed camp location, or talk to the Help Desk Palico and repair it through the ‘Manage Pop-Up Camps’ menu. You must pay a Guild Point cost to repair Pop-Up Camps in Monster Hunter Wilds.
