FragPunk arrives as a 5v5 hero shooter where the stakes are high, and the action is intense. In this free-to-play first-person shooter, players can choose from a wide range of unique Lancers before competing in attack-and-defense modes to secure victory. The game incorporates many familiar mechanics from other titles, but there are also unique aspects that set FragPunk apart.
Right off the bat, when players jump into FragPunk for the first time, they may notice that health does not passively regenerate like it does in other first-person shooters. Instead, players must heal manually. This may catch some players off guard, but fret not—here’s a guide on how to heal in FragPunk.

How To Heal In FragPunk
Looting & Using Medkits
The first and most common way players will heal in FragPunk is by using Medkits. Medkits are green, crystal-like shards that have a chance of dropping when players shoot Treasure—golden, cube-like structures that contain various randomized loot during a game. Treasure can be found in multiple locations across every map, making them readily available for players who need to restore their health.
While Medkits are a type of loot, they cannot be carried in a player’s inventory. Instead, players must use a Medkit immediately to restore health. To use a Medkit, players simply need to approach it and hold the interact button. Doing so will consume the Medkit, restoring 30 health.
Pathojen’s Emotional Rescue Skill
- Emotional Rescue: Throws a biomedical device creating a healing field, restoring health to all allies within its zone.
While Medkits are generally the go-to method for healing, players can also recover health using a specific Lancer’s Skill. Pathojen is currently the only Lancer in FragPunk with the ability to restore health, which she does through her Emotional Rescue Skill. Emotional Rescue is Pathojen’s first Skill, and when activated, she throws down a device that creates a healing area of effect.
Both Pathojen and her allies will gradually regenerate health while inside this healing aura, making the ability a go-to option for players who want to keep their squadmates in top condition. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to disengage from fights and recover health when battles go south. The ability has two total uses, providing players with two opportunities to heal before needing to replenish their skill.
Using Shard Cards
Another way players can heal is through certain Shard Cards. Shard Cards are a core gameplay mechanic of FragPunk, each offering a wide variety of unique effects. However, some Shard Cards specifically provide players with different ways to restore health.
Of course, players won’t be able to use healing Shard Cards consistently, as they need to spend their earned Shard Points along with their teammates to activate a random selection of their team’s available Shard Cards at the start of each round. Here is a quick breakdown of all the Shard Cards that offer healing effects currently in FragPunk:

Using The Oasis Guardian Relic
- Regain HP slowly when your team has played all 3 Shard Cards in a round.
The final way that players can heal is through the Oasis Guardian Relic, the only Relic capable of restoring HP. The Oasis Guardian Relic allows players to passively regenerate health, but only when they have three Shard Cards in play during the current round. This condition means that players will typically only benefit from the Relic’s effects in later rounds, but it can still be a game-changer for those looking to gradually restore health over time.
Players can equip the Oasis Guardian Relic by selecting it as their active Relic during the Shard Card selection phase of a round.
