Businesses and Hobbies includes a feature that takes The Sims 4’s generational gameplay up a notch – here’s how it works.
How to Run a Class in The Sims 4
Players will need to start a small business to host a class in The Sims 4. Small businesses can be started by clicking on the cash register icon at the bottom right side of the Sim menu.
After creating a small business, players will need to ensure they have the following items to run a class:
- Ticket Kiosk
- Hobby WhiteBoard
The Hobby Whiteboard will have a border around the lesson zone but can be placed in a smaller room. Sims can start preparing for classes once they have the whiteboard placed in their designated class area. Sims must be at level 3 or higher to start a class in The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies, so make sure that Sims are practicing their skills. Players can also use skill cheats to set them to the desired level.
Players will also need at least three customers registered at the Ticket Kiosk who are available to attend the class. Lastly, ensure three of the skill-related objects are placed within the lesson zone. For example, piano lessons will require at least three pianos. Whenever all the requirements have been met, players can click on a Hobby Whiteboard, choose “Start Class,” and pick from the available ones.
Sims planning to host classes can make it one of their work activities in the Employee Task settings, so their sim will do it autonomously.
How to Earn Gold as a Teacher
Hosting a class in The Sims 4 Business and Hobbies is similar to a goaled social event. Players will get a list of objectives they must finish to earn points towards a bronze, silver, or gold medal, with bronze being the worst and gold the best. Teaching a class consists of the following objectives and more:
There will also be objectives directly related to the specific skill being taught. If Sims are teaching a Piano class, they will have objectives to play the piano or rhapsodize about the piano. To earn gold as a teacher, complete all the class objectives before the class timer runs out. It is best to do the timed objectives first.
Sims who get gold teaching a class will receive a cash bonus, good business reviews, and the Brilliant Instructor buff for a few hours. The better Sims do in the classes, the better their business does, and they can earn Small Business Perks that improve business functionality and customer relationships.
